    45 colt long

Hi, got a question on reloading the (long) Colt 45? Do you have to crimp if you are shooting them in a SA revolver? thank you.

Using heavy loads in my Ruger and Win. M94, I crimp the bullets. Mild loads, I use the Lee taper crimp.
Due to ammo shortages, no warning shot will be fired

I don't really crimp mine but just enough to remove the bell. before anyone jumps in my $*%t, it's just .45 Colt.

Likewise, I only crimp mine enough to remove the bell, and have never had a problem with the bullets backing out. And yes, it is just plain old .45 Colt.

Roll crimp in the groove of the bullet not to hard, but not too soft either, the gun has quite a bit of recoil. The crimp has a slight bend of the edge into the groove. Function great and accurate for the 200 & 250 lead and 250 JHP.
