picked up wrong primers . is it ok to use mag primers with standard loads for 38 and 357

Yes, I use magnum primers in all calibers I reload.

I would suggest reducing the powder load a bit to compenstate. Try 10% less to start.

Mag are ok for 357... but I've been told they can be unpredictable in 38 special. I agree with Joem... Reduce your loads slightly!
