Prepping new Laupua .223 match brass.

Opened a new 100 ct box of Lapua .223 match brass this morning. Started by trimming, de-burring flash hole, unitizing primer pocket then setting neck tension with a .2225 carbide tapered mandrel. Next will be weighing , priming and then ready to load. In the mean time I have a batch of 73 gn Berger .223s in the vibratory tumbler getting an application of boron nitride coating. Almost ready for weighing primers and projectiles for this batch. Whatta Hobby!

learned, or rather relearned, a valuable lesson on new brass a few months ago,

primed some Winchester and PMC new brass,
did not bother to run it thru the dies,
    loaded powder,
put a round on the Co Ax and the bullet fell thru into the powder,

    so,
unloaded powder from the 100 rounds,
ran thru the sizing die less decapper,
and reloaded the 100 rounds w/ zero issues

I took the expander ball out of all my dies years ago. Mostly now, I use FL bushing dies with just the right bushing so I have to expand another .001 with a tapered carbide mandrel.
