Choice of brass?

Many moons ago I read an article about "accuracy" and a gent stated, "Accuracy is when all your inaccurate stuff falls in line." My accuracy at my age is if I can put it on the table in a humane way my rifle is accurate enough. My son went thru the Army's sniper school and has much experience in the "art" of putting his round on target. "Hitting what I am at is accurate" and he has the "notches" to prove it.

Rgr that. Your son sounds like an amazing fellow.
I just shoot for the halibut and like to eliminate as many variables as possible to make up for my own wobble factor. At 77 it gets worse every year. Whatta Hobby!

While doing the neck truing on my turner, I noticed the Peterson is off slightly compared to others. What I have been doing is taking the necks down from .0155 to .014. All other brands came out 100%. Peterson was 75% on some. Not bad, but I see why it is cheaper than the better stuff. I also don't care for the tiny flash hole. Got to be careful when it comes time to de-prime so we don't break pins. Whatta Hobby!

All .308 srp cases trimmed, neck trued to .014 and neck tension set to .002 loaded with 110 gn Sierra varminters over 46 gn of Varget using 205M primers. These will be tested using 1/4" 10 dot challenge targets through a Savage 110 with X-Caliber 26" 1-10 bull barrel in ORYX chassis and Jard trigger. Topped off with Leupold MK5 HD 7-35x56. Intention is to shoot 20 rnds of each and alternate between brass over a period of time . Should be a hoot and answer a few questions in the back of my mind just for the halibut. Whatta Hobby!
