    Pistol Powder

Any idea when the shortage pistol powders will be over? Talked with my local supplier and maybe I might get one pound of powder. Doesn't go far on 2K of pistol rounds.

No shortage here in Iowa. Major gun dealers have plenty of all makes. Some places are less expensive than others.

Well I'm not driving to Iowa for powder. Well maybe if I get desperate enough.

The dealer that usually has the most powders told me he maybe could get me 1 pound of several powders I can use. I'd like to buy in 5 to 8 pound xxxx. That's the way I used to buy it.

ADI's flake powder plant in Australia is finally back on line, so hopefully we'll start to see some Clays and Clays Universal start to become available here in the states.

Is the state department not letting foreign powders into the US?

I found a solution to the availability issue - I pay through the nose for Finnish Vihtavuori powders. Due too the cost, it is usually available when domestic powders are not. I only shoot enough to keep up muscle memory on my HK USP .40 house gun. This "solution" would not be advised for those of you who run through thousands of rounds per year.

That's why I try to buy 5 to 8 pound xxxx and several if I can get them. 5 years ago I bought 25 pound box of Rex2 for a good price. It's almost gone now and no more to be had.

Got a pound of HP-38. Looks like it will work on quite a few different calibers, but I'd rather have my test data to verify.

good luck. I"ve been looking for varget for 2 years now in the metro phoenix area.
I settled on some 4064 and have to work up a load now. I got sodomized on the price too and hazmat charges are way to high if you buy less then 8 or 16 pounds.
