Triangular Bayonet Model 1880 Rifles

Do we know the history of where the limited production triangular bayonet rifle were issued? We are in the process of moving to another house and all my reference material is packed away. I don't recall having read of their history but then again, I never had a reason to look it up before.

I think I do recall seeing something on that, somewhere (perhaps Al's book) at least as to which companies received them - one would then have to research the regimental histories to see where those various companies were at that time. I have not put that info into my new book (which is now just about sealed so far as additions are concerned) but, if I find it, will try and squeeze it in.
