I know the 50-70 Trapdoor stock has a flat on the left side. Did Springfield change the profile later on to one more along the lines of the 45-70 on the left or were they all produced with the flat?

ALL original pre-1873 trapdoors, from the Model 1865 through the Model 1870, including the reduced-size Cadet arms, had the two pronounced stock flats, and a beveled lock-plate. NO .50-70 rifles should EVER have a rounded stock. -
I should have also said that ALL of the preceding musket stocks ALSO had the flats. Bubba has been at your stock.Comment
