Picked up a later type sling with wider brass hook prongs. Sling is marked with what appears to be J M Davis or possibly D M Davis Co A. I am guessing a bit on the Davis. The marking is stamped, not cut with a knife, etc. Like a makers mark not a soldiers mark.. The capital letters are 1/4" high and are sort of script. Other letters are smaller. Any history out there on this marking? Sling is on a rod bayonet trapdoor.
