    first trapdoor

My first trapdoor is sn. 4411xx. No cartouche, stock is proud of the metal every where I look, I do not think it has been sanded. The only stamp on the stock is a no. 50 behind the lower trigger guards lower tang. Breech block has 1873 mark on it , lock plate is un marked, no eagle or anything! It has the letters O R E deeply stamped on the top of the stock by the butt plate.
Does any one know what I have?

    Thank you

The obvious response would be "a puzzle", but it would appear to be a standard and otherwise unremarkable M1884 rifle, with a replacement stock and very worn lockplate, once connected in some way to the state of Oregon.

Then Springfield did not make it, or, more likely, it has been severely abused.
