    Attn. Dick Hosmer

My apologies in mistyping the name Culver instead of Hosmer. Dick Culver's name is still fresh in my mind and always will be I guess. Dick (Hosmer), concerning the Colt SAA's that were Ainsworth inspected and shipped in 1874, (Indian Wars) Could you please look in SRS for any 12XXX serial range Colts and tell me about any pattern on where these 12XXX block Colts were being used or what is recorded as being reported on them? Were they used in the Indian campaign's?
Also, At least one is listed as having been "Seized". Is that referring to one being taken from Indians?

    Thanks Dick!

Fred, I am a babe in the woods on SAAs, but I do have the SRS books and will be only to happy to look for you. They are not in front of me at present, though.

Thanks, that's the one that was referred to by another person too. Hmmm... 1880. In this case, what does Seized refer too? Seized from Indians?

Could have been taken from most anyone, discharged soldier, some civilian that got hold of it, Indian. Who knows? That's why they were marked "U.S.".
