    Trapdoor Price Check, Pic Heavy

Hello, made a trade with a friend and ended up with this, bore is in great shape, way better than I ever expected out of a black powder gun, stock has no visible cartouche, it does however have a Western Costume Company stamp, as much as id like to keep it im gonna have to move it along, was looking at a 575 shipped, would that seem a bit high granted its condition, im a tadpole in the trapdoor pond of collecting.

I'd say $575 is right around top price for that - the market is tough right now and the rifle is pretty rough and also has an incorrect lockplate, at least.

The plate should be un-dated. Those bearing the 1873 date were phased out well before 100,000 circa 1877-78. A few such do show up on the star-suffixed rebuilt arms (mostly carbines) of 1881-82, but are definitely out-of-place anywhere else.
