    Trapdoor Carbine

I have a Trapdoor carbine that has been sitting in my safe for awhile. I purchased it from a friend several years ago as a favor. Now I am wondering if I should sell it or keep it. I am into 1903's and M1 carbines so my knowledge of the Trapdoors is very limited.

The serial number is #137647, I don't know if there are any hits on SRS for this carbine.
It appears to be all original. When I first received the carbine it was covered in a light film of surface rust. I soaked it in kroil and let it soak for a couple of days and then take a cloth and rub, repeating this process several times. It now has a nice patina to it and still retains 70-80% of the bluing.
It has the stuck case remover with the rod in the buttstock. There is a 001 or 100 cartouche on the R side of the buttstock.
It has the Buffington rear sight marked with the C. The stock is not a cut down stock.

What might something like this be worth?

It might be one of those overhauled at Rock Island for SAW service. The rear sight has been upgraded, but that was very common. I'd put value at around the $1200 level, but sales of collectibles are slow right now.

What do you mean by SAW service?

Thanks for the information. How often do trapdoors come up on SRS?
