Still cool and wetter than usual here. Still can't believe a word the weather guesser says... 0% chance of rain through the night so some dummy who looks a lot like me didn't roll up the windows.

I'm at war with centurylink phone service. All the wet weather has left our phone with too much static to understand either way. The soonest the AI help desk entity said a tech would be available to fix things is July 24. WTH!!! I'm pretty sure the help desk is just an AI voice so I sent a strongly worded message via email.

My job now is to convince wifey we don't need a land line, but she's old school and doesn't want to give it up.

Still sprinkling and house mouse chores were done last night so it's goof off time now so wifey can sleep in. SW

AT&T told me I'd have a service tech here last Wed. Poor guy showed up yesterday. I think part of the problem stems from the scheduler not being the person who does the work and the people setting policy not having to deal with customers at all.

We're firmly into pollen / wildfire season out here.
People were still hitting the ski slopes on the 4th.
We hit 101f last Sunday. We're back down into the more reasonable 90's for awhile and today's going to be lawn day as soon as i finish my coffee.

Here's hoping everyone's weekend goes well.

hit the farmers market, which is also a great plave to people watch, for some farm raised eggs and assorted fruits and veg
was at our shop in Kilmarnock yesterday, so stopped at a local seafoood place and got some Rockfish, oysters and a piece of 'silky snapper'

sounds pornographic but it is an actual fish,

will be having fish for dinner tonight and tomorrow,


porch up front is completed, so I will work on cleaning a pile of estate stuff out my garage so the wife will have room to paint them,
and I need straighten up my reloading bench, got a new upper and scope coming next week, need to work up a load for it,



and need to get some some of my high power gear out of the car,

working 1/2 day or so tomorrow,

Estate stuff: That reminds me, did you ever complete that estate group of 70 guns you mentioned a few weeks ago?

Finally got the bearing job done on the bike. Had to make a "special" socket out of an old chrome wheel lug to get the freewheel chain spool off.
Got a kevlar road tire onto the front~ which requires a smaller sized tube. It's a lot more stable with that narrower , smoother tire on the front. Diameter is about 1/2" or so smaller than the big mountain knobbies that came with it. Holding off on doing the back tire until I am certain the bearing job is properly done. The cone seating adjustments are very touchy. These newer style bearing cones have a very steep angle to them, and less curve to them than when I was a kid. Fingers crossed that the rear axle ain't bent. It seems to roll more or less freely when it's out and cleaned. The grease that was in there resembled dried out wax.

Took a page out of Hogger's book and hit wally at a couple minutes before opening. Huge difference- in and out with what I wanted in less than 10 minutes.

Will get some pix up of these new tires somewhere around here. Something new to me with a ton of Kevlar built into them.
Was up at 5 and wifey woke up to the smell of fresh Caff just before 6.

Managed to mow both lawns without killing myself yesterday, cleaned and refilled the hummingbird feeders (up to two now).
Little bastards get aggressive as heck when I get too close to their nectar. Today, I'll get out and finish watering.
...once the coffee kicks in.

We're suppose to get hit with dust from the Sahara Desert today.

It can travel for thousands of miles but it will be no match for our daily rains.

Grass height starting to get serious.

Black clouds this morning > sprinkled > mowed anyway > sprinkled. Got er done.

Having to mow at least once a week now (weather permitting).
