    Labor Day Coffee, and Welcome back

    lovely cool (for August in VA, cool 61 here now) Sunday AM,
    no real plans,
    Wife's birfday tomorrow, so will bake a cake sometime today

      Already 78 here, and it's going to get hotter. Couple sips of last night's cold coffee, then off somewhere on the bike to get a ready made, and hot cup.

          Only in the 70s here. I would have jumped back in sooner, but since I don't know where to lease a few sheep to graze it, I mowed the lawn & did some misc. yard work. More to do, of course, but I try to pace myself. Dove season starts tomorrow, so I need to rummage around and find my fave dove gun - Marlin model 28 with extra tight choke. I recently scored a Star 30M and took it out to a public hunting place for function test. Ran like a champ! While there, I noticed a gaggle of doves. I'll get pics of the weed they really like (not hemp). I can't tell you what it is, but the flowers are purple, and seed pods smell like hot chiles.

          Besides attracting doves, it also attracts bumblebees. One flew into the truck, but happily sailed right out the other side.

          Nebr has a $5 hunt/fish/trap permit for geezer vets, and I plan to use it. I'll post separately about that adventure.

              You guys have great Temps now...it was 108? on my patio Labor Day in Phoenix. Wish I had yours. But just wait 'til Jan and Feb. While you are in the basement reloading or putting on another log, I'll be in my garage in shorts and tee shirt doing the same in the 70s. While you are shoveling snow off the driveway, I'll be shoveling sunshine off mine. LOL

                  Just commented to the wife a few days ago that our summer temps here have been cooler than last years.

                      Cooling way down here - to the extent doves are bunching up and flying south. Took the dog out @ 0430 to enjoy 42F. I thought it was fine, but doves despise cooler weather.

                      Had a breakfast burrito and kept quiet while wifey slept in. Older daughter stopped by to raid the cookie jar & conversate. She just left, so I mowed the front yard. Back yard tomorrow... maybe. No real plans for the weekend. SW

                          Match day, low turnout, and I had an issue with my rifle so I called the match so the match director could shoot,

                          hit a local messican joint for lunch after the match,

                          now back at work
