    Coffee Oct 4

Older daughter and hubby are gone to a concert in KC, so I'm minding their dogs. But they're good dogs so I don't mind. Trees are starting to rain leaves - I can hardly wait to sweep them up. In the front yard, it's raining walnuts. Well, not actually rain- squills are knocking them down. About half get buried across the street in neighbors' yards - some are banked in a fellow's old pickup.

The squills have a plan, though. They drop nuts on the driveway where we smash them. Then the scamper down for easy nut meat. Birds are wise ti that, as well which leads to big territory squabbles.

Wifey is all revved up to watch football - I'll go over and let the dogs out again. SW

Match day, but I did not shoot,
knee is giving me a fit, so sitting is a bit,, painful,

VMI had a group show up, it was about 12 shooters, and a good group of young men,

club had a swap meet as well in the clubhouse, and got a few things very cheap,

now going to find my way to the sofa, wife is out of town for the night, and I have a bag of chips and a guinness or 3 to partake in,

doing a demo day tomorrow for Dead Air Silencers, so that will take up most of my day tomorrow

Sippin away at home made dual blend coffee that is a bit on the dark side. Fits the weather here, which is pouring rain.
Been almost 3 weeks since I've been doing any shooting, and that is entirely weather related- it's been too warm to hunt. Probably try and get out once this week after the rain quits for a while. It's supposed to cool down towards more seasonable values starting Monday.

Not much of interest lately. Lost Mrs. S. in Wally yesterday, and had a heck of a time finding her. She's one of those types that can evaporate into thin air when she's shopping. She probably slips into an alternate reality somehow. She just disappears that well. Tried phoning her, but that didn't work too well. I can't hear a phone conversation, and she can't text with her arthritis. Divine comedy or what? I see Wally's carrying Wrangler again, but the denim looks micro thin. Time to find some Lee's or Pitch Riders.

I use to have that problem with the wife when shopping in WM. She would always disappear and it was up to me to find her. I told her to stay in one section at a time till we met up again. Now days she doesn't get out due to all the Covid scares. We get a lot of items delivered to the house thru WM. That denim that you saw may be the flex and stretch denim. That along with the Wrangler brand bought at WM is what I wear and is very comfortable. You can always return them if they don't suit you.

          let the women shop,
when in doubt, go find something manly and they will call or find you

today was a drive down to the shop my brother runs, and then a short drive to a range he is a member at
we did a demo day with Dead Air Silencers,
not a huge turnout, but those that showed were appreciative of the reps help in demo and convo about what silencer does what,

          range is a bit odd,
I am a member of one in Charlottesville (1.5 hrs the opposite direction from my shop) and have visited a few others,

this on, in Whitestone, is managed by some folks that don't want new members or non members to shoot

          very odd management style,

the range I belong to in Cville, we have meets or matches for various disciplines, and they are open to members and the public,
an example, the High Power match that I help run, or shoot in, and am the score keeper for, is open to the public,
we charge $15 to shoot, and we pay out 60% of the take, so you may get a few bucks back or more, if you win,
          member or not

this range, Rappahannock, has some matches, but open to the members only, and guest, and if a guest wins the match, and a member comes in 2nd, the member gets recognition and maybe a trophy , the guest, nothing,

and they are good with it,

          most bizarre to me
