Saturday coffee and catching up thread Dec 6

I fell asleep in the recliner while reading Karamojo Safari by WDM Bell. Excellent book! Wifey made coffee and had a cup or 6 before I woke up. She's still putting up Christmas decorations - and she has a ton of stuff. My shopping is done - I'm getting dear daughters and grandkids several units of universal gift = currency. Always good for a smile when the package is opened!

My present to me should be here in a bit - the Marlin handcuffs I recently scored on Gunborker. Now if I could just convince the little darlings I don't want anything. I mean, I still have that RR dagger in Budapest waiting for the EU to allow packages to be shipped here. So that takes care of what I'd like.

Rain right now which is supposed to be snow this afternoon = no big deal. SW

-2 F here right now. I still haven't found the block heater cord for the new to us car, and am not looking forward to crawling around under there to find it.

3 mile ride yesterday to the courthouse to deal with photo-radar tickets. Got them in a very poorly marked school zone in an area of the city I'm not familiar with. Speeding in school zones is not something I normally do. Probably have it dealt with one way or the other by the end of next week.

The Panaracer Pasela tires on the bike hold up better in the snow than I was expecting. I'll have to get some insulated pants so I can get back into riding longer distances. For most of the stuff around town, I prefer the bike over the car, especially for the downtown area where parking is expensive, and hard to find.

Weather here along the Gulf Coast is overcast with no sunshine, currently in the 50's during the days and 40's at night. Now while that may sound like a joke to those of you who have it much worse it is bitter cold for us especially with the amount of moisture in the air.

No snow, plenty of rain, some wind. Again, thankful to be retired and not have to get out, drive and work in less than comfortable weather.
