Saturday coffee and conversation thread 1-24

Much colder than it has been here. Temps right around 0F. I don't take Flop Ears out early right now - we wait a few hours, like until 10 or so. Nobody else out enjoying the chill so it works for us. I've been putting out more birdseed so they have more calories for surviving the cold. Yesterday I even got a pound of fat from the meat counter @ no charge since they usually just toss it. I'm hoping woodpeckers find it - they go bonkers for tallow & fat. I'll keep track of it since squills despise anything different and will knock it down just to be furry little butt heads.

I addressed household chores before the temp dropped. Dear granddaughter has an abundant crop of hair that collects in the shower drain. This time, I noticed it was draining more slowly and got it cleaned out in time - also the bathroom sink. Then I got wifey's Christmas decoration totes all stacked in a closet... which means I can goof off and read books my main man in Belgium sent.

His wife went a "perfume laboratory" for younger granddaughter. Looks like fun, but the directions are in Ukrainian. No worries for me since that language is similar to Russian, but I'll have to make an instruction sheet for her.

Also in the box was my 1937 German RR dagger my Hungarian friend grabbed for me from a German auction site. Hungary won't mail packages to America right now - Orban and Trump are apparently on the outs - so he trans shipped it through Belgium.

Time to cruise the usual sites now and maybe take a nap since I still get up @ 0400. SW

Was wondering how much of this you are getting. The weather channel shows that ridge of Arctic air pulling fairly low south.
-27F here right now, but supposed t climb back up to 0 by Monday afternoon.
Still haven't found the block heater cord on the new to us little 4 X 4 car. Beginning to think there may not be one, which is a bit odd for this locale. In the meantime, I'm running the car every 8 hrs, or so, and going for Tim's coffee. Sure uses up a lot of gas doing that, but it still beats a pancaked and frozen battery.
Not much of this weather left, hopefully. I wanna get back on the bike as soon as I can- I miss it something fierce!

cancelled my tables at the gunshow due to bad weather predicted, and looks like the promotor closed up early , just a one day

instead drove a load of guns I bought last Sun down to the store, and got back in time for the snowmageddon that ended up being just about an inch of very fine snow and sleet,

      whopping 19 degrees here now

24 degrees now, snow/ice/sleet/freezing rain is like glitter falling,
          maybe over 2 inches,
          stayed home all day
will venture out sometime tomorrow mid morning to the shop, to pack stuff up sold and work on an estate or 2 and make phone calls,

not supposed to do much the rest of the night, and not supposed to get much over freezing the rest of the week,

The front came upon us last night. Currently 31 (sunny after heavy rains) going to 20 tonight.

The ever changing 10 day forecast shows light freeze every night for the next week or so. It's wintertime with Feb being our coldest month so no complaints here. However, many of the trees were blooming and/or budding out. Happens every year.

Yes - looks like a repro to me. I have one, and detail in the wings & RR wheel is very different. SW
