Saturday coffee and shooting the breeze thread

Weather guesser said we'd have -4 or -5F temps last night. Bah! It was 31 when I took Flop Ears out for our usual short hike. Snowed a bit yesterday so I did scoop the sidewalk for us & neighbors. Fellow next door smoked to excess in his younger days and carries oxy with him all the time now. It could well kill him to scoop his own walk. Supposed to be in the low 50s today which is fine with me.

I've been working on a full auto rubber band gun I got for Christmas = not as easy as it sounds - those Roku kits are a bit involved. If I can remember to take the camera with me later today, I'll get a few shots showing what I mean.

Otherwise not much going on here. Older daughter just jumped into more post grad work on her goal of a PhD in psych - younger daughter has been way busy with her spa biz. Older granddaughter is taking pre-college nursing courses. Sounds like 2 years to get her RN - then more studies to qualify as a surgical nurse. It's well to have a plan! SW

Currently 38 here with a high predicted to be 35. The 10 day forecast is changed constantly (which makes it NOT a 10 day forecast) but they won't even correct their obvious real time mistakes.

On local TV channels their forecast are mostly free though and you get what you pay for. Some degree of accountability would result in more accurate forecast I feel.

Sticking your head out the window seems to be the most accurate measure of the weather.

I remembered to take the camera downstairs to get shots of the rubber band MG I'm assembling. The hard part is finding all the tiny parts on the different sheets. Also frustrating is the lack of a few parts in the kit. But never say die - right shoulder arms and continue to march! SW

My progress so far. Today I tried assembling the trigger/sear/disconnector. Mostly got it, but I'll need to scratch build a couple of parts that flat do not exist in the kit. SW

Looks like quite a project! I get the rubber band drive on top. That drum has gotta be spring driven ???
Have fun with it, and keep us posted on your progress!
