Over a week out from surgery and feeling vastly better! I'm back to taking Flop Ears out early again, and she's all happy about it. Funny how dogs get used to a routine and despise deviating from it. Just dumped out a little birdseed. They were on it before I was 5 paces away. Birds are acutely aware of their surroundings. I was sitting on a train once waiting for the disp to give us the green light to leave the mine.
While waiting, I had a smoked turkey leg for lunch. Tossed the bone out for a fox or bobcat to enjoy, but within 3 minutes, a "grey jay" was on it pecking away. There were no birds in sight when I tossed it out! 3 more birds quickly appeared, intent on weaseling some leftovers for themselves. I tell you, they don't miss a trick!
No plans for the weekend - I have carte blanch to lay around healing up and intend to make full use of it!
