Saturday coffee and Easter plans discussion thread Apr 4

After steroids and muscle relaxers, Flop Ears is doing very much better! Wifey has a little baking to do today for dinner tomorrow. Daughters & grandkids will be here to put on the feed bag. SiL does long haul trucking and wants to stay out so he won't miss older granddaughter's graduation.

Took wifey to Good Friday services last night and was surprised how sparse attendance was. Seems the church sent out "start showing up for services" letters which doesn't always end well.

For today, I'll do the Ward Cleaver bit and peel spuds. I really don't mind that. Might have to sample the ham, too! It's a spiral ham, and I like those since the bone goes in the crock pot with garlic sausage and beans. I likes me some ham & beans! SW

Except for mashed potatoes I just wash potatoes real good, cut them up and cook. I leave the peelings on. Lazy? Yeah, but I don't see a bunch of difference.

Just eating a fried garlic coil sassage samwitch and cold Libby's beans here right now!
Your beans radar must be turned up extra high for all that distance.
Ain't done church in decades. Last was Christmas eve mass about 30 years ago, and I had a heckuva time staying awake.
There's a 14 lb knuckle bone smoked picnic shoulder ham in the freezer. It'll stay there a few more weeks yet. Wifey insisted on a turkey dinner for Easter Sunday. I gets the chefery honors on that one. Bird don't look too bad at about 14-16 lbs. Probably be up by 05:30 to start the stuffing and buttering.
Did a slow 6 mile round trip coffee ride on the blue rocket Motobecane bike today. (finally broke 35 f here today) Took it easy geared down. There's still a lot of ice and slush and water around, and I haven't been on a bike since mid Dec. Bike came home covered in grit and sand, and I couldn't be happier. Maybe get some pix up later after they're up-loaded.

we had no easter plans, then wife decided after church she wanted to bake a ham, (pre cooked, basically just warmed), home made mac and cheese, and asparagus,

she cooked that while I took a nap,.

met a guy at 10am this morning to buy (from him) about a dozen guns and stuff,

was supposed to pour rain here all day, but it missed, just a bunch of sprinkles, so I managed to get the yard cut as well
