Changing barrels got rid of my import mark which pleased me beings blue sky always had such a poor reputation. A buddy gave me a much nicer looking stock and a still in the wrap op rod. I had foolishly shot some of my grandpa's Remington 180 gr. hunting ammo and bent mine. With age comes some wisdom at least. I did some really dumb stuff in my youth. When I shoot it anymore it's with M2 ball or reloads to those specs. Back then I didn't know about corrosive primers either. My first Enfield barrel is a testament to that. It didn't ruin it but it didn't do it any good.
It's Saturday!

Beautiful morning here, low-mid 70's. A bit hazy as we got rain coming late this afternoon, after a quick look-see on the webs gonna have steak and eggs for brunch then take the Galaxie to the gym and a little cruizin' after before the wet stuff comes down.Comment

Betting ready to head off to the real world. Get some cheap breakfast in me, and buy some gas for the truck, as the breakfast will provode with with all the gas I need. Also hit the bank and deposit the proceeds from the garand.Enfield, everything else is just a rifle. Unless it's a Garand.
Long pig, it's what's for Dinner!Comment

Back in high school, due to some 'automotive stunts', someone started a rumor that I'd be dead by 20, their prediction is so far, off by 40....hahahahaha, eat a bag of dicks.Comment

Some stupid stunts aren't that bad for us. We learn by our mistakes and bruises and it's way more fun than living in a box, being chained under the house, or otherwise just never doing anything fun/daring. Note: I didn't say living in a closet.

The weather has changed here, it has been so nice the last 3 days, but a little windy.
I was able to get a CMP Garand in the late '80s. I picked it up at the post office. It looked a little rough but the finish on the metal was good, and once I shot it,I knew it was accurate. I used to shoot it at a gun club in West Liberty, Iowa that held CMP matches. Mine is a Springfield and has 6 digit serial number that was rebuilt in 1951.
The club let me use their spotting scope and mat. Entry fee was 20-30$ and they provided a bandolier of LC ammo.Comment
