Well if the protests lead to change, maybe there won't be George Floyds or Tony Timpas in the future. I guess it all depends on whether someone views such deaths as unacceptable or just part of what happens. One of the problems for police in the recent round of protests is that they're coming up against new faces, people seeing this sort of policing for the first time, being shocked by what they see. And cameras! Everyone has a GD camera! What those cameras have captured is plenty of examples where the cops join the melee.
