"...there is virtually 100% compliance..." No, there isn't. When our socialists decided all hunting rifles would be registerable (at $25Cdn each in the beginning) and a licence course(taught by unqualified instructors) was required even for those with military/police/long term experience, there was widespread non-compliance. That by otherwise law abiding voters too.
    Spelling and grammar count!

re the banned guns, I remember reading a list of the Ca banned guns, some were airsoft or toys
yes Airsoft are prohibited in canada...

my daughter competes in international (olympic) air rifle matches. theres a big international match in Toronto every year. we are less than a 3 hour drive so we've gone several times. we stop at the bridge and inform the agent we need to go to secondary for a rifle inspection. they send us over and we speak with another agent before going inside...

we have the RCMP paperwork already completed and the agent behind the counter says "you cant bring that into the country because theyre banned". i show him the flyer and the registration that shows the Canadian AIRGUN Grand Prix logo and information on it etc etc. he replies "i dont care what paperwork you have, airguns are illegal in Canada" i ask him what does the Canadian Olympic team shoot in their Air Rifle competitions. he says he "doesnt (dont) think they do because airguns are illegal in Canada"... this goes on for about 15 minutes and i ask to see a supervisor. the supervisor comes over and asks "why are you trying to bring an airgun into Canada if theyre clearly illegal?" i explain that we are headed to the 33rd Canadian Airgun Grand Prix and if air rifles and air pistols were illegal, how couold they have this match, and how could it be sponsored by (some Canadian) Firearm Safety Council? she shook her head and couldnt imagine that an AIRSOFT match could be very accurate and then it dawned on me. they thought my daughters $3,000 Walther LG400, was a $200 plastic BB gun. it took another 5-10 minutes to explain the difference and then all was good. i told them there were 4 other families that were going to be coming through in the next hour or so with air rifles for this match...

they were very understanding once they had half a clue
