You ask a bunch of screwy questions as we both knew you would, that have no direct bearing on what is happening outside.
We also know that I could post link after link and you'd go nope...nope...nope.
You're living in your own personal X-files fantasy about how the world works, and blind to the simple things staring you in the face, such as this:
I'll offer you a wager, that 2022 is among the 5 hottest on US record. You in, Fox?Comment

I asked you to answer 2 simple questions,,You ask a bunch of screwy questions as we both knew you would, that have no direct bearing on what is happening outside.
We also know that I could post link after link and you'd go nope...nope...nope.

those 2 are basically taxes on services, so where does that money go, and how does it help Climate Change (assuming it exists in the many you believe)
you duck, dodge, change, twist, turn, and go around the world including dismissing the questions as silly and loopy, and then attempt to equate some made up scenario in a business I was in that you have not a clue about, (obvious from many of your past posts) that comes across as both patronizing , and quite honestly, trolling,
and a fascination with a 90's TV show about Aliens,,,,
and you are back to the personal insults about my own fantasy world, which I have proven time and again is more grounded, then just about anything you have ever experienced,, time and time again,
yet you continue to troll
and are yet too arrogant to realize that in your last sentence , quoted above, that you proved one of my basic points,
and my dismissing you , esp in this way, will just make you angry,
so you will make some flippant comment about lectures, dad isms, and start playing the victim,
then once I dismiss those silly comments, you will cry and play victim,
them, since you have to have the last dig, you will make some snarky BS quip, and this thread will get locked,
so then, the world, can see once again, how much of the troll of CSP you still are,
you are upComment

Discussions about climate change services are, at best, highly derived from the actual subject of climate change, and at worst, completely irrelevant to the topic.
You treat the subject as a topic of subjective opinion, as if belief or not was somehow affected what happens out there. At the same time, you stubbornly refuse to consider the topic from the angle of actual measurements.
Well they are measuring things, and the trends are all pointing towards more energy in the environment. Energy shows up in temperature, but also in flow. These bigger storms we are seeing in off-seasons. In the past there isn't energy for them. Now, there is.
To me the idea that we ignore the physical data is incomprehensible. To you, it's necessary.
But, if I expect you to talk about things on my side of the divide, I suppose I can comment on things on your side.
So for price surcharges, or "carbon neutral" claims in general. This I know a little bit about from a past consulting gig. Big electricity consumers can purchase it wholesale from various producers. Some utilities offer "green" options, say to purchase wind or biomass or whatever fuel at contract prices that are above spot rates. Useful as a market signal to "produce more of that kind of electricity", and hence the sort of arrangement that could see a customer surcharge. As for carbon neutral, or carbon credits, undoubtedly a lot of funny accounting going on. Look at the EU, cutting down whole forests not that far from you (Carolinas) to score themselves as "green". Ridiculous and if not mistaken something to look at.
But these things themselves, I hope you can understand, are separate from the physics of the situation, what excess carbon in the atmosphere (and oceans) is doing to our environment. Physics doesn't care about opinions.
To the extent that you dismiss the physical measurements as all part of a vast conspiracy, that's where I think you are channeling Fox Mulder.
I would say at this point you are overdue to take a serious look at some hard climate data and not just wave it off.
Ball's in your court.Comment

next step
just words that ignore question and make the side that cannot win,, since they cannot answer the questions, thus always doubt , feel better and allow their ego to continue stroking itself,
I'm not ignoring a thing btw,, just enjoying watching you go on and onComment

When I try to read about carbon credits ect. my eyes start to go out of focus. Why would the EU cut down a forest to score green? How is the EU close to the Carolinas? Glacial and "interglacial" (when it is getting warmer) periods take place like clockwork it seems. And from what I've read we are in a cooling period right now, which ignited the earlier prediction that we were headed for an ice age (1970's). But it's human CO2 production that is holding everything up...so far. So, if this is true we will still be covered in ice, but it might take 65K yrs. instead of just 60K. So it will be cold AND polluted. Just me talking, not real detailed. If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.Comment

and one more step to go,
and guessing your friend either is as vapid as you or you spoke out of context,
show me where I said the UPS website disproves anything?
I simply asked where that money went and how it would stop climate change,
that was the original question, , you have still failed to answer
danced around it,
twisted and turned it,
hid it in a corner,
yes, you have done all that,
but not a word on how UPS fees, or Carbon Credits, do a thing or where they go? or how they benefit anything,,,,Comment
