An old sore subject that has come up before. Some here have cut the cable. Some do the streaming. Some use other sources like Dish or any number of cable companies. I hear likes and dislikes about all of them though. My wife likes her Hallmark chick flicks and year round Christmas shows. We are use to the Direct TV layout and have the DVR so we just leave things be and put up with things.
All that being said we pay $140 a month for basic plus what they call a HD pack which includes about 5 extra movie channels (with commercials of course).
This month the bill was $150 with no explanation (strange how things NEVER go down but always up). My wife spent a hour on the phone with them trying to get them to explain this. They hope people will give up and hang up. They finally said we signed up for Peacock (a streaming service I suppose). I told my wife I hadn't and never had any option to do so. Direct then admitted that THEY might have made the mistake and took it off of our bill.
I suppose if enough people don't buy their add-ons they just charge you for it anyway. I'm sure too that with the economy slowly tanking they are losing customers and $ also.
The final result ended up with our bill still being a little higher than the previous ones but my wife did all she could trying to communicate with someone, probably in Pakistan with broken English to understand and just gave up.
I bring this up as a notice for you to check your bill. While this is chicken feed it does add up over time and why pay more for stuff you didn't ask for or use?
