I was in an "awkward" area and found a Mini 14 that was supposed to be unloaded and had a full 5 round magazine......after I had worked the bolt BEFORE dropping the magazine.
In my haste, dropping the magazine, then pulling the bolt back to unchamber the round I.....uh, well...OK...third finger divot.
[and here I had been trying improve my language by not cussing!]

[Note, I have been cautious about my Ljungmans and MAS 56/49's.]

Any divice that makes shooting easy to some is worth the price. I wish John could come up with a M-1 Carbine last round hold open device. I hate that last round empty chamber CLICK on my 44 Island. An buying mags that have a lil ole bump on the end does not qualify as the bolt will slam home as the empty mag is removed. An John does make a good hold open device, par none.

I bought two of them from John about ten years ago at a gun show. They take all of the timing issues out of your gun. No more clips flying out after 5-7 rounds or any worries of wacking your thumb. Sometimes the problem is NOT operator error and this is a great solution for not a lot of money.

They also make it impossible for the Germans to attack when they hear the ping from your clip flying out.
