only 1903's had the gas port on the right side of the receiver with the hump? And the 03a3's had the port on the left...For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.Comment

The Marines started to explore the idea of Hatcher holes in July 1938. In August 1938 they sent a Master Guns to SA to observe how SA was doing it. That is also about the same time as they ordered the fixtures and tools from SA to drill the hatcher and also enlarge/drill the gas hole in the bolt.Comment
