    Schoolbd,

Please post a picture of the ordnance bomb, "P" proof and Stevens address roll stamp from the right side of the barrel. Do the serial numbers match between the barrel lugs, trigger guard and stock (# between the stock and receiver seen when stock is removed)?

Looks good. They are almost never faked. But it matters if the numbers match.

Here's couple more photos, can't find a number on the end of stock due to decay, only part that does not match is magazine nut.20161102_141205.jpg20161102_141304.jpg

It appears to be OK except for the screw in the barrel lug at the front of the magazine tube.

That does not get a number.

Ok, but it has a number in the 24,000 on it? Any idea about what year my gun was made.
                        Thanks

                          Schoolbd,

Is it a 24,000 or a 27,000 (from post #1) serial number? In my opinion there really is no reason not to post the full serial. Around 18,000 Model 620s were delivered to the US government and most (16,000) were made between March 1942 and June 1944 (serials 17,000-33,000) with the first trench guns being delivered in February 1943. There are no records to give exact production dates but you can make a guess based on that production range.

Sounds like the magazine locking lug is a replacement from an earlier Model 520 or Model 620, the serial number was commonly applied on those and they interchange. Your trench gun although called and marked as a Model 620, is actually Model 620A.

James serial is 27459, the mag lock was 244?? Can't remember the full no. and don't want to pull it back apart.
