    Sky Dick

Yep you all have seen fake news this is it. That poor Navy pilot could be either a fan of the Pittsburg Penquins or sending a message to the NFL. Or, possibly the picture is inverted and he was trying to draw a bunny wabbit and those round things are ears.

In either case my hat is off to the guy, he had balls made of krypton to pull this off.

Seems to me a "professional" was playing games in the sky to the tune of $60,000 tax payer dollars per hour.

writing dicks in the sky is juvenile and not what we hire Naval Aviators to do........

Someone thought that out carefully in advance. Maybe practiced it too? But yeah, doesn't seem professional.

You don't have a clue. This guy knew for certain if he did this his days as a USN pilot were over. He did this to send a message and I don't know that message was and neither do you. But, he deliberatly flushed his piloting days down the toilet and sh!itcanned any prospect of becoming an airline pilot. You can't be stupid and become a Navy Pilot, just like you can't be a moron and get to be the POTUS. He did this for a reason and he knew the consequences.

You are right... this was a deliberate prank (for want of a better word) and well thought out.

Bravo Zulu to the aircrew! If you can do this you can fight in the vertical, just what we need to drop a MiG or ten. I wish little Kimmy in Noko had seen it over his hootch.

Sorry Red but if what you say is true... then the man shouldn't have been a Naval Aviator in the first place ... and maybe neither should have been you

, Sand pebble ,my friend, that’s not only nasty and mean spirited, but a terrible sentence! What were you doing while Red was bouncing around the sky protecting your postierer ? You know that little trick could have been a salute to DemocRAT Al Frankin, first class waste of human skin, and so ugly he has to wait for a lady to fall asleep to get near her.

What was I doing Tommy ?.... I was a Carrier Sailor. I might not have been an aviator... but I was out there putting them into the air.

I'll stand by what I said .... we don't hire pilots to write dicks in the sky..... they need to play college frat games... then they should stay home with Mom and Dad .

The whole world just looked at that dick ... and realised it was us

You guys have got it all wrong, what if it was a female pilot expressing concern for her male cohorts? Perhaps it was a male making a political statement against the NK idiot. Either way the pilot should be left alone in the New Navy.

Sandpebble, what carrier, what was you’re job, and what year or years did you serve? As a “carrier sailor” you know, or should know that ship exists for the aircrews. No aircrew, it’s just a damn expensive floating hotel. Let’s cut this crew some slack, we don’t know why they did this, and until we do, I’m on their side.

There has always been a tradition among Naval Aviators that practical jokes are a relief for periods of great boredom. We once were anchored in Souda Bay off the island of Crete for 30 days. No liberty, no flight ops, and the morale plummeted. In the wardroom (a very formal place) there was a sign on the wall that said, "Even on ships they shine," over a pair of black, spit shined, shoes. One boring night those shoes disappeared and were replaced by a brown pair of aviator's shoes that were worn out and never shined.

It was the same kind of camaraderie that went too far at the tailhook convention in 1991. That doesn't apply here... this stunt was different. Civilians and the public were affected instead of just Naval officers. The guys that did the shoes thing (and similar) knew if they were caught they might be put in hack for a week or slapped on the wrist. These guys had to know 1) They would be caught. 2) The punishment would be severe... Conduct Unbecoming, BCD's, and possible DD's at a minimum.

When you think about it, how did they do this??? your everyday Navy jet doesn't have tanks full of water to mark their path thru the air... You can't stop and start contrails at will... I still say there is a lot more to this than we know.
