Under British law, the Queen has to approve the marriage and it would seem that she has done so. If she is happy with her grandson's choice who are we to approve or disapprove of it. Those of us of a certain age will remember the incredible fuss 60 years ago when the Queen's sister wanted to marry a decorated WWII fighter pilot who had been divorced and due to social pressures was unable to do so. We have come a long way.

Given the penchant of the various royal families for inbreeding-cf Franz Ferdinand's complaint that half of the Hapsburgs were either epileptics or idiots- perhaps some fresh American blood would pep them up.
