Stock market is up but valuations are high by historical terms. Correction is inevitable, possibly to pre-Trump prices. How are volumes? I haven't checked. But Bill Clinton had a nice Bull market, and so did Obama.

On immigration. I favor tough rules, and a national ID statement akin to a passport visa. If you don't have one, you can't get hired. With tough enforcement on Chamber of Commerce types who look the other way on immigration but vote GOP. Within that framework, give states some room to maneuver. But if they issue DLs, there should be a QR code or something that identifies the bearer as a non citizen for voting purposes. But spend the money dammit to make it convenient for ordinary poor and minority citizens too, because to me buying guns and voting are about the same. Making one way easy and the other way hard is wrong in either direction.

Give me a GOP or Dem candidate who thinks like that and I'll vote for them.

Our resident dems want a President that rules by Executive Directive, a Congress and Court system that will happily rubber stamp any action he takes, and an executive branch that assists the king with regulations and rules that he desires. An IRS and FBI, not to mention the other alphabet agencies, that actively suppress and penalize any individual or organization that is not in lock-step with the king's wishes. They also appreciate a press and media that propagandizes every event and story to the king's favor. Worst of all, they have a horror of ordinary citizens who are armed, despite their pretended interest in the shooting sports. These folks also desire an economic system that is planned in Washington, where all corporations are under the control of the king, and donate whatever proceeds their business generates to the king. The old term for these guys was courtesans. The more recent description has been communists. The modern term is "progressives". The end game is "slavery". Just my take. Regards, Clark

Well Clark this is rather funny that you would mention dems wanting a President that rules by executive order...... lets be realistic . All the trump supporters... and trump himself thought he was just going to change the world with the flourish of the pen. A wall... better health care... better deals all round... because it was thought that that was all it was going to take... a flourish of the pen.

The horror Clark is not of the ordinary citizens being armed.... hell I'm armed and I'd put one through your forehead in a heartbeat if you came in my back window. The horror part comes where the likes of yourself and many here are afraid to take steps to prevent those that need prescription drugs to be "normal" from obtaining firearms.... because in order to do so we'd have to intrude on his privacy... and even obstruct his 2nd amendment rights...... and just where do you get off accusing others of "pretended interest" in shooting sports just because they arn't "Fox washed ?

The slavery part is interesting Clark .... that is exactly how I felt when I struggled financialy through George Bush the first' presidency.... and again through the presudency of his son... Dubba. Part of the reason for that slavery was "tax breaks for the rich" .... when the GOP back in the day eliminated import taxes on ceiling fans from China .... ceiling fan manufacturing here in the US ended almost overnight... to the huge benefit of Corporations like Home Depot..... if opposing that makes one a commie....

Corporations owe a fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders. So if union-busting,or outsourcing, hiring Mexicans, or moving a plant abroad can be shown to improve the bottom line, then these things happen. Corporations do not have an fiduciary interest in the benefit of the country. This isn't to say that a sole proprietor can't make choices that way, but just to point out something that should be understood but is overlooked. Sandpebble is right when he points out that our economic system is like a vacuum to low wage immigrants.

actually i think others and myself were hopeful a new president would work on limiting the EO powers after the last 8yrs of abuse.
