you need more than two deadlocked parties. I dont think anyone is advocating a single party system.

What the heck does that mean? Oh wait, you mean the ten day delay in the gov. It's a joke. I never in all my years thought that the U.S. would(I'm looking for a word) resort to a temporary shutdown of our government. Italy has had about fifty "governments" since WWII. I always thought we were above that. Now it's common place. Yeah, I know, we're not in Kansas anymore. If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.Comment

The 2 week shutdown a few years ago cost something in the order of 24 billion to recover from. Some small businesses were hit hard, the ones that survive order to order to meet payroll. Essential gov employees will continue to work but will they get paid? If they dont, they eventually will leave to find other work which means little things like medicare and SS checks will stop. It suprises me how many people dont see the consequences of a long shutdown. What the heck does that mean? Oh wait, you mean the ten day delay in the gov. It's a joke. For how long, politicians buying votes squandering our wealth. When it all crashes we can look ourThe two party system is “broken.” Ah... so we need to have a one party system???
Wow! That would solve everything and we could join the other “one party,” nations. Venezuela, No. Korea, Argentina, Cuba, Haiti, etc.
Or maybe we could get to be like Greece, Italy, Brazil, Portugal, etc.
The U.S. and our two party system has become the greatest nation in the world and you say our system is broken???
Grandchildren in the eye and apologize for being selfish and living well outside our means. For sacking them with the debt our selfish generations massed while passing the payment to them. Deficit spending with the lack of a world war occurred during my life time. WW1 made us WW2 sealed the deal. That was a long time ago with a society that thought and live much differently. The two party system with our current society is a failure. You are pigeons holed into being one or the other, never just an American. It’s my opinion and I ain’t no body but when I look at modern day politics it disgusts me. If you thought I was advocating one party I need to clear that up. Three parties so two of the groups of idiots actually have to cooperate to get something done instead of hold press conferences telling us minions how diabolical the other party is.

My parents Democratic party morphed into National Socialism which is unfortunate. My Dad was a life long card carrying union man. Dad was one of those who fought for a union and I mean physically fought for one. I only knew him to vote for a Republican president once and that was for Ronnie in 1980. Dad would be appalled at what his party has turned into. My Dad only got to the 7th grade but he had common sense and was a hard worker. He was a long haul trucker for over 30 years and won every safety award the company could give. Ten days after he retired in 1975 the company tried to call him back with the promise of more money and a new tractor every two years. Dad politely declined as he wanted some rest and family time. I am an American and I want the best for my fellow countryman not for those who stole into my country. I don't agree with everything President Trump does, but so far he has done what I hired him to do. We have immigration laws that need enforced, not rewarding those who are NOT HERE LEGALLY! Do I reward a thief who is TRYING TO TURN THEIR LIFE AROUND? The dreamers have only their parents to blame, not my country. Life is not fair for anyone who has had major problems but we do the best that we can do. We need a Congress that puts the American People first, not those who don't belong here.

Sometime you have to get really sick to get better. We, the American People, have had it easy compared to those who came before us. My parents came of age during the Depression and WWII and I remember the stories that they told. Today people feel mistreated if they can't afford the newest fad. Sooner, not later this house of cards is going to lean and for some of us it won't be too good. We are only 9 meals away from anarchy and that is scary reality to behold. Look how people panic and run to the store to stock up on "essentials". Johnny Carson made a joke about a toilet paper shortage and created one, this is how shallow people are. Who will be blamed for this shutdown, that is the $64.00 question. The 2 week shutdown a few years ago cost something in the order of 24 billion to recover from. Boggs, you seem to have an incessant unchristain hate/obsession about illegal.... or probably immigrants of any kind as it seems to be on your mind like a festering wound.....My parents Democratic party morphed into National Socialism which is unfortunate. Did your Mother run off with a Latino when you were a child per chance? ..... because there's something eating at ya... isn't there ?
Now for the Dreamers.... you're wrong about them having only their parents to blame.... They have "us" to blame as well, and all those we voted for. We and all those we voted for from either party never made a real effort to stem the problem or rid us of it untill we and your government allowed them to stay near on a lifetime.
We've spent decades sealing other people borders instead of our own..... now its time to pay the piper.... which may not be so bad as those Dreamer kids are probably going to be a little more motivated than the present native born loaves of bread spending their time on pills and video games .
Maybe thats our fear .....that maybe we might need a little help in our quest to " Make America Great Again " ......
because frankly..... the 25 yr. old native born across the street ain't gonna be much help.....
.... and Boggs..... save a little of your famous analytical skills for yourself

As usual just a tilt to the left. Did the US bring the illegals into my country...no Did the US ask them to stay here...no I am happy that finally the laws of MY COUNTRY are being enforced. Pay the Piper...wrong fire the Piper! I get the impression that you feel so strongly for these illegals that it is not for altruistic motivations, perhaps the reverse? What is "eating me" is MY COUNTRY being a third world dumping ground for semi-illiterate people or people being paid under the table by scum companies. YOU have a company what say ye? A tree trimming company was fined for having 10% of their work force illegal, paid 93 million I believe. Illegal entry, fraud in employment, no insurance, drivers license because of lack of documentation. LEO's have a problem with this, apparently you are OK with fraud with your supplication of illegals. As for unchristian...RENDER UNTO CAESAR THAT WHICH IS CAESARS, RENDER UNDER GOD THAT WHICH IS GODS. Immigration is mans law perhaps good or bad. Hatred...no again, dislike yes to anyone who steals into my home and takes that which is not lawfully theirs.Boggs, you seem to have an incessant unchristain hate/obsession about illegal.... or probably immigrants of any kind as it seems to be on your mind like a festering wound.....

I listened to a congress person last night on the radio. Other then the house and senate put it in the bill why are they fighting about immigration in a spending bill? Thats part of the problem focus on one problem at a time.To Error Is Human To Forgive Is Not SAC PolicyComment

maybe you are to blame for the illegals, but many of us have been staunchly against them crossing our borders illegally. just because you married an illegal, doesnt mean the rest of us have to bend over for it.Boggs, you seem to have an incessant unchristain hate/obsession about illegal.... or probably immigrants of any kind as it seems to be on your mind like a festering wound.....

First a point of clarification, Sam. My private property does not belong to you. We share a country, but it doesn't belong to you any more than anyone else. So your ability to tell other people what to do is pretty limited, as is mine. Difference between us is that this bothers you more than it bothers me.As usual just a tilt to the left. We do put out an economic welcome mat. There are jobs at the bottom that filled by illegals. Some illegals work their way up the economic ladder and then it gets tricky (like the guy in Cairo IL who bought a restaraunt). Make no mistake, your quarrel is ultimately with business, whether you can see that from your Ohio holler or not.Comment

That's part of Trump's "deal". He said the illegal "dreamers" could stay if the dems sided with him with $ for the wall and other enforcement of getting rid of the illegals. It all cost us money and shouldn't. He has a lot of supporters pissed at him for getting soft on his stanch with such. I think maybe he knew that the dems would reject it and he could proceed into other avenues including the shutdown. Nevertheless, people are saying that the "dreamers" need to go and are not negotiable.Comment

Up to a point you are right, think of it this way. We live in an apartment building and yours is above mine. If you invite a "guest" in and that guest somehow catches your apartment on fire won't it affect mine? This "building" is a condo which each person has bought so you are right about private property rights. Should I not squawk if your "guest" causes problems for other's in the building? Illegals affect the bottom line of my country, apparently since I took an oath I see things differently from you. As for the holler, it is nice. An illegal is by definition a criminal due to having committed a crime punishable for the first offense of 180 days commitment in a federal prison as will as anyone who aids and abets the illegal. Fraud is a felony punishable by years in club fed I.E. obtaining employment identifications under false information. I have seen guys go to prison for years for less. Why anyone wants to reward a criminal act is beyond me yet Nancy and Chuck are wanting to do this to score political points. Whatever illegals accomplish matters not due to having no legal right to do anything is a mute point. I steal into a bank, take out money and proceed to open a business that is successful for my family. When I am discovered will I not go to prison, will my restaurant not be confiscated and my family be put at jeopardy. Is the police the guilty party for my children or am I?First a point of clarification, Sam. My private property does not belong to you.
