Another Fish in the ICE Live Well

Somebody (JB perhaps?) asked whether or not the media would light up if the ICE was sending someone back to Poland or somewhere like that, or if they only cared about Spanish-speakers. Well here's a data point.

Hi Togor. Quoted you only if someone posted while I was reading the article. Yes, it was me. It will be interesting to see if this story goes beyond local press coverage. This case is very similar to some of the others I was referring to.

Resident alien/valid green card, but something somewhere triggered red flags.
We (the neighbors) were able to petition one release from the ICE holding facility near Kenosha WI. after six months. His original crime was answering a cell phone call from his eldest son while at a red light. During his six months in lockup, his youngest son was born. Free for a year.
Long story short, he was deported for "six months" while paperwork was returned to order. His youngest boy is now in 6th grade. Let's hope the doctor fares a little better. The nurse on the next block over from me was allowed to return but many others haven't.

Hi JB, I think it got picked up wider, but I cited a local source. How long it sticks around is anyone's guess. These things have a way of getting pushed off of the front page by the next thing to come along. I suppose the ICE is part of our national immune system, if you will, but immune systems are known to attack the wrong tissue. A weak immune system is bad, but so is one that is over-stimulated. I wonder if I could get Boggs to agree on that last point.

Looking at this realistic, plea bargain set aside an not guilty IMHO are mute points. These should not be in the record, twenty years ago when one is young and stupid who has not been. Has a green card, stable history I see many errors here as opposed to others. The Dr. HAS A LEGAL RIGHT TO BE HERE is the difference as to those who do not. With a green card, he is a guest who should be treated as such until he proves otherwise. It wouldn't matter if from Eastern Europe or South America the issuing of the green card is the deciding factor as this makes him a legal resident of the United States. My question is who signed off on this detention and why under statue. IMHO this is a serious error that should have been cleared up. When I was a case manager with my ex-cons I learned quickly how to maneuver thru the legal system. If I followed the "normal" way I couldn't get much done so I had to find back doors. If I was working for the Dr. there are ways to get things done, sometimes in an usual way.

After looking into this matter, I believe there is more here then is being reported. Three are three sides to every story...Yours, mine, the truth.

Probably there is. JB's original question was whether or not the media picks up exclusively on the Latino deportations, ignoring those in different directions. Some evidence here to suggest that they don't completely ignore the others. Whether the Polack in question is a good guy or not, deserves to be here or not, I honestly have no facts to guide me, and hence no real opinion. As for stories like these, I'm sure the ICE has a plenty thick skin. If however they're given 100,000 (or whatever) kids to deport ASAP, in the face of a lot of civil disobedience, they may need to grow a second thick skin over the first.

              A personal experience ... if I may....

Right about the end of Ron Reagans 8 years and the beginning of GH s time my wife crossed the Rio on a tire tube because she couldn't swim. Three years later we were married and found ourselves at the Dept. of Immigration in Boston Massachusetts. The wife had to go back to Colombia... thats the law... and finish the immigration process from her own country.

We understood that.... this was because the wife had broken the law by working under an assumed name. What we didn't understand was the immigration officers further explanation that if she had been here those three years with no visible means of support this all could have been expedited and she could have completed the process right here in the U.S.

So I had to ask that immigration officer.... and all you other sticklers of abiding by the law.... who the hell can survive here for 3 yrs with no visible means of support ?

Well... I'll tell ya.... drug dealers... prostitutes.... and thieve's ....

but hey... that was the law at the time right? ... law is law .... how many of those people had easier access to this country than my hard working wife?.... and you guys voted for them two ... didnt ya ?

get over it, your wife broke the law. IMO anyone who breaks the law entering this country should never be allowed back in once deported.

Geez, I don't have the numbers at hand but unfortunate things happen to unfortunate people. How many innocent people have been executed for crimes they didn't commit? Our prisons are stuffed with prisoners that were deported dozens of times before committing a serious enough crime to get prison duty. This guy, regardless of his virtues has broken the law (several times).

So he got caught up in the system... too bad, so sad, but it is an exception and not the rule. Your solution is to erase our borders and by doing so you would erase our country.

The left wing has always been about selective law enforcement. Let the people in power determine which laws they wish to enforce and which ones not to enforce. That is the way the Democrats have operated since before the Civil War.

You have raved about the excesses of election and voter laws in the Democrat controlled South. The people you worship (Democrats) are the ones that dictated those laws.

Your problem is that you don't understand the difference between the law and justice. Law is what is in the books. Justice is a question of morality or ethics. Apparently you think that anyone that believes in enforcing the law cannot also believe in justice. What you forget is there is no justice without the law.

Red this was a follow-up to a different thread with JB. Once again your tactic, tired as ever, is to put words to me that I do not write, to make sh*t up. I guess you're starting to feel a lot better, since your posts are starting to show their usual piss and vinegar, with a dash of horse manure for seasoning.

Exactly what words did I put in your mouth this time... That you raved about the Jim Crow laws in the Old South??? Are you denying you did that??? Or are you denying that you are a proponent of open borders???
