Like the Garands the S. Koreans have been trying to sell US distributors for over 10 yrs? Otherwise, what are you talking about?[/QUOTE]
For that reason alone every gun US gun owner is indebted to the NRA. Even BERNIE agreed with NRA's position on that point by voting FOR the law which exempts gunmakers from "deep pocket" suits! He famously said "why should the maker of a hammer be sued if that hammer is used to kill someone?" During the campaign, he was attacked savagely by "the bitch" for being a "friend" of gunmakers, so as pols so frequently do, he opportunistically changed his position, but that doesn't change the logic of his original position. And many arms manufacturers would have been sued to insolvencyComment

33 Years is what I heard. You can still be fit and serve at that age. I don’t know that fitness was an issue but mindset was., although I agree fitness is an issue in general. The military and police for that matter have been looking for a way to test for this very issue forever. Unfortunately it does not exist yet. He can move if he wants but it will not change a thing, it will follow him forever. Many men, police officers or not, would have gladly taken his place that day, but you and I know life does not work that way.

Oswald used a Carcano. Ward parkway shooter in KCMO used a stolen M1 Carbine. Those are the only two mil surp shootings (rifle wise) I am aware of.

Yes I did. Apparently this isn't something they are proud about and are keeping a lid on it. There may be more to the story though. They may have been instructed to do so for some reason. All the links I can find to this are from CNN so most of it can be discredited.

Not a rumor--just heard a 25 yr FBI agent interviewed on CNN say the same thing--he called it "unconscionable." Also said courage wasn't having no fear, but mastering your fear, which these deputies did not.
Just worse & worse.Comment

I have never personally known a coward. But I have personally known a great many young men who went forward with knees knocking and teeth chattering. If they could do it, why couldn't this guy?Comment

No one wants to get killed but like mentioned before, this deputy has to live with his actions now for the rest of his life. Since the kid with the gun tripped the fire alarm first I assume from the articles that he then fired into the crowded hallway. It sounds to me that just running in would have been suicidal and just cause an additional death. If he could have been apprehended from the rear or side perhaps he could have been stopped sooner. The deputy may not have had the availability of this. The chaos was probably unbelievable along with no one having time to think. Everyone has hindsight on what should have been done but none of us were there. Guns in responsible hands at the time could have made a difference. While it would be hard for a teacher to shoot a kid they would have to consider what all was happening. All in about a half a second. I'm not saying the deputy wasn't a coward, I'm just saying that merely running in may not have accomplished anything and he knew this.Last edited by Allen; 02-26-2018, 10:28.Comment

The deputy's lawyer said that his client thought that the shooting was coming from outside the building, not inside. Anyone who is experienced with firearms would certainly have been able to tell the difference. Just another lie to save the deputy's ass.Comment
