We're talking about San Francisco here. The cops were probably more afraid of the guns than the suspect. Need to watch those stray bullets though, one of those many thousands of homeless or illegals might get hit.

              Cops are the lousiest shots.
I remember when they came to my club, you could count
on holes in your target you didn't put there.

Sounds like a good argument to go back to the revolver.

Back when my brother was a cop he would invite other cops to our farm to shoot. One cop in particular became a chief in a small town. He was into all that Kong Fu stuff and even wore a pair of numshucks on his service belt. He came to the house one day with a brand new Colt Python 6". He shot the wooden target stand till it collapsed not hitting the target a single time. This was at about at 25'. He just wasn't into guns and didn't stay with law enforcement either. He now has his own studio where he teaches Judo.

Those places last about as long as butter on hotcakes.
It seems a lot of cops don't want to hurt anyone. I watched a vid from here in AZ where the bullets were hitting the pavement ten ft. in front of the perp. Maybe you get a medal for participation.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

From the ones I have seen much better. Been around cops for over 40 years, some I wouldn't trust with a sling shot! One was getting out of his vehicle, shot the windshield out, was a Dudley Doright.

Human nature. Some just aren't capable of pulling the trigger on another human. British noticed this even in the days of ranks and volley fire with smoothbore muskets.

I've seen that too but in his case he has been extremely successful and has a nice home. When he left law enforcement he built a large new commercial building on land zoned for such. He being a former chief everyone knew him. He teaches all martial arts to men, women and children and was something like a 3rd or 4th degree black belt when he started his business back in the late 70's or so. He is still in business.

                            He just wasn't into guns.

A very good friend of mine until very recently had a dojo above his place of business before retiring and moving. 6th degree black belt and had no real use for nunchucks aside from training and development. He stated if a situation arose which needed more than hands and feet...it was time for a pistol.
