NK - USA Summit?

I'll say that it won't happen anytime soon, and that this is probably for the best since a misfire could affect Japan and SK, both important countries to our economy.

President Trump is in the driver's seat. If he wants it to happen, it will happen. As things now stand, it is entirely in his hands. Given past matters, this may or may not be a good thing. JMHO. Sincerely. bruce.

It is better to talk then fight. If you have to fight then fight hard. I can see no harm in actually meeting with the leader of North Korea. I mean UN could pound on the table and threaten or sit there thinking he is cunning and trying to pull a fast one or actually might wish for some change in the situation. Its been a SNAFU'd situation since the cease fire was signed.

The summit itself is a far bigger propaganda victory for NK than the USA. Unless the USA gets something of equal value in exchange up front, something that can't be undone later, it's already advantage-NK out of the gate. No way that goes over well in DC. This is why it's better to leave talk to underlings for awhile to flesh things out first.

I believe that Mr Trump is being played by Kim. He wants to have a meeting to demonstrate to the world that with his nuclear bombs, he is now equal to anyone, particularly the USA. The ultimate mistake would be for Mr Trump to go to North Korea. Kim would describe this to his people as America now being a supplicant to a powerful N. Korea and was coming on bended knee. Any meeting should be held in Washington. One interesting problem is that the Kims never go anywhere by air. They are afraid that somebody would shoot their plane down or sabotage it. I understand that when his father went to Moscow, he traveled by train for a week rather than fly.

Ah you have things in reverse... If the meeting happens, Kim will be like the school kid called to the Principals office. Sure, he may try to pull some shenanigans... for example, if in the middle of the meeting, Kim physically slaps Trump...

Or, better yet, what if Trump punches Kim in the nose? Either way it is a win, win, for Trump. He hasn't promised Kim diddly squat, while Kim has promised no more nuke tests or rocket launches in the meantime.

We will have to wait and see but my gut tells me Trump, the deal maker, will prevail and is ahead in this game.

Hold the summit in Moscow. Putin can blame a resurgence by Chechen rebels when his train blows sky high....his plane is shot down....his boat is torpedoed..
If his car runs off a bridge he can blame the Kennedys.
Half a billion bucks and a bottle of Woodford Reserve should do the trick.

i dont see it as a victory for either side. for 65 years its been a sad failure on both sides. i speak as someone has has been right there on the edge of N Korean waters and played tag with their MIG's. its been a long drawn out game of BS, and even if someone needs to eat some crow, it needs to be dealt with before someone has a bad day and tons of people die because of it. of ocurse we could make this a n korean nuke free zone, and just hang signs on the border stating that no north korean nukes will be allowed in. should work right?

Just remember..technically we are still at war with NK. The last thing we agreed upon was just a ceasefire. Spoiled totally rotten Bad-haircut-boy is itching to play with the nasty toys he inherited. Anything can be called an act of aggression as far as he's concerned. The kid is a sicko.

If anyone can pull off the meeting and get sucessful results, it would be Trump. He's more saavy than most people want to believe as he operates in politically uncovential ways.
I think Trump has got China to put immense pressure on NK.
Still I'll believe it only when I see it.
