Wearing NRA/RKBA clothing and badges, etc.

This topic came up on another board.
I have started wearing NRA hats, etc. when appropriate.
The anti-RKBA/PC crowd are as opposed to the 1st Amendment as they are to the 2nd.
This allows me to aggravate them on two fronts.

Unfortunately, some of the NRA merchandise is trashy looking--like the baseball caps with all the gold braid on the brim. But in the summer when I'm not wearing felt, I do sometimes wear a very stylish cap I picked up at an NRA convention, only one of its kind I've seen.

Had jury duty here in Virginia with a guy who wore an NRA t-shirt the first day, trying to get removed from the jury pool I guess. Surely, SOMEONE would be offended. Didn't work and he was the crankiest of us jurors during the entire proceedings.

No, it a sign of level-headedness.

I finally got a blaze ornge cap with [B]NRA[/B of the front.

Thinking about adding eighteen year CPL holder underneath it.

          Really tick them off!

Best friend and Godfather to my kids (RIP) pulled it off. Wore a rumpled hat with a Confederate flag, bib overalls, and a camo shirt with the sleeves cut off. A two question interview and he was on his way home then off to work.

Annoying people through apparel choices? That is the site. Just be sober because it's a little spendy.

I have NEVER understood shirking jury duty, and I have a pretty low regard for those who do, or think it is funny or witty when others do so. Flame away.

No flaming from me, except to point out the outrageous absurdity of wasting the time of 100, maybe 200, juror candidates in order to pick 12. My view is that our (rotten) gov't is supposed to work for citizens, and not contrariwise. How about starting with, say 25, then if more are needed calling another 25, and so on?

One day wasted sitting on a hard wooden bench, missing work at my business, then being told 6 or 7 hrs later I wasn't needed, fulfilled all the "duty" I consider I owed. Since then, jury notices have gone directly into the trash. Evidently the county realized warnings didn't intimidate me, because after a few yrs, they stopped sending them altogether.

It's not just one day. What if you get called on a lengthy trial? They used to pay bus fare and lunch, about $9 a day. When you're feeding a family and paying a mortgage, that aint gonna cut it. IF...IF you have an employer who compensates wages for jury duty it's OK. Otherwise it's a loss of $200-$250 per day due to some thieving crack head. That and a possible loss of employment all together because they finished your project while you were sitting there wishing those attorneys would STFU.

But if you displayed a glimmer of intelligence, you'd probably be dismissed--as the verdicts in so many trials prove beyond dispute. The "ideal" juror is a moron who knows nothing about a case that's been front-page news for months, and has nothing better to do with his time but watch daytime soap-operas.

                        Respect for justice

I have a vast respect for the justice system... would you really want to be judged by a unintelligent, unemployed, moron, or somebody that gives a sh!!t? Like Dick says, I have never understood dunderheads that shirk their civic duties.

But that's exactly the kind of juror the justice system prefers!

No it is not. It is the kind of juror the the OJ's of this world prefer. A juror of our "peers," is what the justice system requires. You prefer a jury of idiots because you believe you will never be the one to be judged. The refusal of qualified jurors to serve is a big problem... The next time you are called to serve and you refuse to be bothered by your civic duty... you are the problem not the murderer, the rapist, or child molester, that walks free because of inadequate jurors.

The judges, prosecutors, legal clerks, bailiffs etc. all have government salaries, benefits, retirement packages, , but if there's a problem with getting jurors because We The People can't afford to further subsidize an already bloated government, then it's our fault, right ?
In the UK I have been told, a jury is the first twelve people from the pool, no peremptory challenges, etc.
