The way I see it, If I follow the teachings of Christ to love one another and care for one another and there is no God or hereafter I have no problem. Now if I go my merry way, not following Christ's teachings then I have A BIG PROBLEM. I have no issue trying to follow the teachings of Christ, I wish I could say that I succeed each and every day.

if you live a decent life i dont think youll have much to worry about if there is something on the other side. the only ones who truly worry about you being in their brick buildings to worship are those that benefit from it.The way I see it, If I follow the teachings of Christ to love one another and care for one another and there is no God or hereafter I have no problem. Yes, all religions make it up as they go along. As opposed to Marxism, which is scientific, definitive and authoritative, and if it hasn't worked it's due to deviationists, revisionists-and wreckers.
John Paul II described hell as the "absence of God". It seems to me that spending eternity with your nose pressed against the glass see what the decent and just have received would be torment enough.Comment

That's a big relief."The first gun that was fired at Fort Sumter sounded the death-knell of slavery. They who fired it were the greatest practical abolitionists this nation has produced." ~BG D. UllmanComment

Seems like the Catholics worldwide would overthrow this POS before he destroys their multi century faith and replaces it with his personal opinions. This is the same idiot who criticized Trump for upholding gun rights and wanting a border wall though he has the same at the Vatican.
Perhaps some good will come of this. Many Catholics see a pope as being above man and worship them. This is a good example of one being below man.Comment

I can't believe the leader of the Catholic Church just said there isn't a Hell. I believe in Heaven and Hell.To Error Is Human To Forgive Is Not SAC PolicyComment

Oh for sure the Pope is going to have some explaining to do when he meets God. I mean, wanting to see fewer people get shot, what on earth was the Pope thinking. Happy Good Friday, y'all.Seems like the Catholics worldwide would overthrow this POS before he destroys their multi century faith and replaces it with his personal opinions. Re: Op, Pope, Church, etc., etc., etc. Understand rational driving criticism by some of the Pope. Common sort of stuff any pastor will face. Even Jesus could not please everyone. Of course, he didn't try. That's one thing that really hacked a lot of folks off. They nailed him for it. Really stuck it to him. Thought they'd finished the job. But, well, you know what they say about not being able to keep a good man down and all that. Years roll by. The people who began following him ... called themselves Followers of The Way. That little group ... it became a lot of things. The Empire that nailed the carpenter/social reformer/revolutionary/ Messiah ... it didn't make it. That little group of people ... the called out ones ... i.e., ἐκκλησία, they just keep hanging in there! And, for every instance where one or another group of them fail to follow well their namesake, others do a very fine job. Not aware of any multinational organization that has stood up for 2,000 years to everything anyone could sling at it and yet ended up being the one that patted whatever/whoever it was in the face with a spade ... pronounce last rites ... you know! Like they said when the communist recently lost ... after the wall fell, etc., "The Lamb wins!" About the only ones nowadays who whine and complain are the ones who find those turn the other cheek people get in the way of whatever it is they want to do. That's cool. The Church needs to get in the way of folks when what they want to do is wrong.
The Pope is not subject to recall by those who bow down and worship at the high altar of political power. Of course this muffs some folks, usually those whose altar is dedicated to power, control, authority, money, whatever. They do get upset when folks who follow Jesus Christ decide that following Christ is more important than following any pretender to the throne, be he Caesar or otherwise. They get upset when the Church refuses to elevate the individual to supreme status as over against the community. It must be said that throughout Scripture, both Old and New Testament, the focus of God is not so much on the individual but on the community of individuals. This does not set well with generations of folks who have come to believe the mantra of Burger King ... you can have it your way! Good commercial for selling hamburgers. Otherwise ... especially in home, family, business, and politics ... sure to mess things up for all concerned.
So, while I do not agree with any and every statement made by the Pope, and while I am not a member of the denomination he leads, I applaud him for speaking his mind without regard for what anyone else might or might not think. Let him put his thoughts out in the marketplace of ideas. Let other people read it, think about it, etc. IF they agree, fine. Let them say whatever they wish in that regard. IF they disagree, fine. Let them say whatever they wish in that regard. If he criticizes Trump, fine. I do recall that Jesus himself never showed any respect for or regard for politicians at any level. He had what some found to be a unpleasant even objectionable willingness to insist on things others found outrageous. The same former carpenter turned Messiah who had so much to say about the poor, brokenhearted, captives, blind, the widow, the orphan and the stranger would very likely not make a lot of folks happy with what he'd have to say about some of the stuff Republicans and Conservatives hold dear ... like walls, military, business, taxes, etc., etc., etc. Of course there would also be lots and lots of Democrats and such folks who'd be screaming for that former carpenter turned Messiah to be unfriended by one and all, excluded from all networks, and of course. After all, it is extremely doubtful he would please them with what he had to say about life both born and unborn, about right and wrong, about deviance both sexual and moral, etc., etc., etc. Why they'd probably think he was sticking his nose into everything from their bedrooms to their business.
The interesting is ... those on the right and for sure those on the left would stand shoulder to shoulder in outrage at this mere carpenters son turned Messiah who acted like he was God ... and talked like it ... and said it. A former government functionary, social climber, politician with upwardly mobile aspirations named Pilate ... he didn't know what to make of Jesus. But, he knew one thing. In his own words, Jesus was "the man!" And as long as the Pope and men and women like him serve that Man ... I'll say more power to them! And I will walk with them as we follow that Man! Later this afternoon the world will mark the approximate moment when a once but gone nation and a now long dead empire thought it'd finished the Man. But that was Friday long ago. Sunday was coming!
As to hell ... what do you believe? I believe there is a hell ... just as sure as I believe there is a heaven. Last Tuesday evening, one of my church families found themselves in hell. The father found his little 13 year old son. He had hanged himself from a tree in the woods. He'd gone for a bike ride and not come home. They have a big 3,000 sq. ft. plus house on a golf course, right on a lake ... nice new cars. They were going to go on a vacation come last Wednesday night. But Tuesday evening, they found themselves in a hell the thought they'd never know. Their questions that evening were not about investments, college degrees, which one of the Jone's they were keeping up with.
They ask about their son. They had questions for which they wanted answers. I told them what I knew of that carpenter turned Messiah. You know ... the Man! I told them he was a man of his word. He'd promised nothing could tear us away from him. He promised to prepare a place for us. He promised that because he lives, we will live. I'll share that from the pulpit tonight at the Good Friday service. I'll share it from the pulpit at the services I lead this coming Sunday morning. And come Monday, we'll bury that little boy. I will share with that little family as our church ... those called out ones ... surround that family and loving walk with them through the sort of hell no one ever wants to experience. We are not going to stop. We will be with them throughout the coming months ... years, because it'll take a long time to walk through that hell. But together we'll get through. We'll just follow the Man! Sincerely. bruce.Last edited by bruce; 03-31-2018, 04:50." Unlike most conservatives, libs have no problem exploiting dead children and dancing on their graves."Comment

I do not pretend to know why the Pope (or DJT for that matter) does what he does. Neither can I comprehend why people read things put out by today's propagandists that people call "journalists" and swallow the bait like a catfish goes for a ball of rotten chicken guts. The news is 90% either twisted or outright lies made into a word trap. For example, "Does your mother know you smoke crack?" Whether you say yes or no, you are now a crack head.
In this case the Pope graciously gave a interview to a 90+ year old so called "Journalist," (Eugeno Scalfari) who also happens to be a atheist and a avowed Socialist. How do we know the Pope said he doesn't believe in Hell? We know that because the Journalist says so and gives us his interpretation of what the Pope said.
I haven't seen a video or any other "proof," that the quote is accurate and now the Vatican is questioning the accuracy of the translation. In 1968, Scalfari was elected to the Italian Chamber of Deputies (1968–1972) as an independent aligned to the Italian Socialist Party...
