The facts are that with the Nuremberg Laws, the Jews were forced out of their homes, out of their businesses, out of their properties, etc. and herded into and restricted to ghettos that amounted to slow killing machines that functioned through starvation and disease. The Germans said they needed the "living space." They complained that the Jews were in the way, a drain on the society. The killing of Jews was by Germans excused by legally classifying them as sub-human, life unworthy of life. Oddly, only the Germans were surprised when the Jews fought back at Warsaw. Two generations later, free people throughout the world applaud the Jews for fighting back using whatever means were at their disposal. The most fantastically absurd & back-assward re-writing of history that it's possible to conceive. All these measures have been necessary because Palestinians WILL NOT STOP killing, or trying to kill, Jews--usually defenseless civilians! Israel has been FORCED to fight in self-defense since the first day of its existence in 1948.

The greatest political mistake in Israel's history was the foolish mercy they showed by allowing their implacable enemies to remain in any part of the territory they controlled when they could easily have expelled them. Israel had only to loose one of the wars the Arabs launched against them, & they would have faced the choice of dying where they stood or taking to the Mediterranean.

Comparison was to a concentration camp, which, you having missed that, reveals where the true stupidity lies. Palestinians could escape their "concentration camp" by going to Hamas-controlled Gaza, but in addition they have the whole Arab world open to them. They stay because the "oppression" they suffer (and DESERVE) in Israel provides them with a better life than they'd have in ANY Islamic country!

Then, the friendly British came along and decided that all that had to change. So, it changed. After WWI, the British controlled much of the land. They just didn't have the man power or resources or will to maintain control of the Holy Land. They felt the Jews should have a homeland. It's not the first time land and populations have been forcibly transferred from one sovereignty to another. They had done the same time in old europe. The Jews who established the new Israeli nation state were of course thrilled. The Palestinians whose land was taken were not happy. Over the years, the original parties to that dispute and their descendants have fought over the land. The Jews were called terrorists by the British before 1948. Now the Jews call the Palestinians terrorists. So it goes. Emotional old men sit around drinking coffee arguing over "the land." Meantime, they order young people to go pull triggers to defend the nation against "terrorists." Meantime on the other side of the rifle barrels, people look at land that was theirs for century piled upon century, olive trees that were planted by their forefathers, fields that they once worked. Odd it is. Over on the African continent it is considered outrageous that after a couple of centuries of occupation, descendants of european settlers are now by law forced off their land, land that their forefathers took and worked and developed. Odd, these descendants of earlier colonizers are forced off the land and it is seen as a moral outrage, a contemptible corruption that no right thinking man can condone. Yet, over in the Holy Land, people who have lived on the land for centuries out of mind are by Israeli law forced off their land which is confiscated, then given to Jewish settlers, developed into apartments, farm land, the water sources diverted, etc. How is this any different? In 1948 the Palestinians were presented with a opportunity to live peaceably in a muticultural state--they chose war. 70 yrs of war & the threat of war with the surrounding Arab states, combined with unceasing internal terrorism from the Palestinians that were ALLOWED by the Israelis to remain in the country they've done everything in their power to destroy, have pushed the people & gov't of Israel to take extreme steps in self-defense; for that, the Palestinians have only themselves to blame.

If you want to talk about Nazis in Palestine, the place to start is with the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, who traveled to Germany to meet with Hitler so they could coordinate their plans for evicting the Jews when it looked like Rommel was going to drive the Brits out of the Middle East.
