Vern: I like the idea that they should cut their salaries as an example to others but apparently they froze their salaries in 2009 and will not get a raise until the province has a balanced budget. Essentially this means no raise in pay for about 12 years. Their salaries are actually not very high now: about $116,500 Canadian for a regular member of parliament. That's about $90,000 US dollars.

Good point Mark. I am sure the salary those politicians are only a very small portion of their actual income. Take the Clintons and Obama for example. None of them ever had a real job that paid big bucks. lawyers and "organizers," don't usually become rich in a hurry but Obama's best paying job was as a Senator and then President ($174k then $400k) and now his net worth is $900 million. The Clintons (according to them) were flat broke when they left the White House (remember when they had to steal the silverware just to pay bus fare back to Little Rock?) and are now worth billions... and now the Stooges claim that Trump is just using the Presidency to get rich.

Trump is rich and using his government connections to make his family richer through foreign connections, particularly to countries where anti-corruption rules are weakly enforced so that the rulers can deliver to Trump Inc. (Looking at your Chinese trademarks, Ivanka) Rich guys never want to extend their influence to get even richer. Never happens, right? But to be fair there is more to this than money. Trump seems to want to blow up the Western alliance itself. G7 was proof of that. Putin couldn't be happier I am sure, with his investment. And his propaganda machine keeps stooges like Red in line.

@ least the Stooges were funny in the 1930's, the NAZI's weren't. Fast forward 80 years into the future the same still applies with one exception. Germany outlawed their NAZI'S, we have a new political party filling their shoes replacing the old political party of "democracy".

Togor, Im starting to see a clear distinction between those individuals that have (or had) occupations whose opinions are subject to peer reviews and scrutiny, and those that can expunge nonsense without the weight of facts and reality.

              Good observation. I agree.

Sam I note you didn't dispute the basic assertions of my post even if you're clearly unhappy that such low hanging fruit is within my easy reach. Maybe giving you too much credit here, but perhaps you recognize the graft that is part and parcel of the current administration, but consider it the "price of getting the policies you want"? If so, then maybe it would be good to remember that Devil's bargains work for the Devil.

Just think, two more years of continuing economic improvement, jobs coming back to America. Illegals going back to where they came from, opposition party continuing their painful retreat. Black and Hispanic workers having a better life as opposed to welfare under THEIR PARTY. Any day now a chance to put more conservatives on the Supreme Court for continuing constitutional law. Already Ohio improved our voter roles with the possibility of other states adapting our voting regulations. Religious "rights" being reinforced with more to come. Yes Sir!, things are looking better and better...except for the oppositional party. The good democratic Senator from WV looks to be replaced by a Republican and Manchin is leaning towards the conservative side to get re-elected. The more poor Pelosi talks the better she does for conservatives this fall. California's starting to take a good look at their state government and turning against the socialists, those who can are leaving the state and moving elsewhere taking their money with them. Yes Sir!, things are looking better and better!!!

Blah, blah blah.... lie amd cry... You still haven't been right about a damn thing for the past 2 1/2 years. Blah Blah Blah...

How many charges have you made against Trump? At least 203,476,511 or thereabouts. How many charges have the $146 million dollars spent by 14 Mueller's Trump hating Democrat investigators bought against Trump??? ZERO and no, the 13 Russians and the old charges against Manafort and his buddy Gates are NOT charges against Trump. Lies over lies over lies. Gates plotted with Trump but never met him, and never spoke to him. Wow, now that thar is some kind of real colluding going on!!! A low life , American hating, traitor... pretty much sums you up.

Lie and cry forever and it don't make it so.

Questions for you Red. Do unscrupulous businessmen ever get rich? By cheating people? Do they ever go bust? And if they do, are they only cheats after their bubble is burst? Be careful of the measure you would choose. I'm confident that I measure Trump wisely.

I thought we were talking about health care? I kept my plan, I kept my doctor, and I'm paying $2500 less a year! Where you all been?

You sir are a lucky one. I lost mine, was cut to part time due to the increased health care cost. Those who kept the health care had to move to more expensive plans with less coverage. In general there were a few who benefited, more who did not. Of the 400 people who I worked with, NONE benefited from Obamacare and all had to pay more for less. What Obama and the NSDWP promised was a lie to many and a tax on all. Pray tell, what is your plan, perhaps others could emulate you.

Then I applaud them -- when the leaders LEAD, and make the sacrifices they expect the rest of us to make, there is hope for the world.
