Another success for a Socialist utopia

Argentina was once one of the world's top economies... then the Socialists took over.

ZeroHedge - On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero

    "Don't cry for me Argentina..."

      The irony if that statement.

Fun socialism fact: America socializes old age. Even conservatives support the policy. "Well I paid taxes for years for these benefits!" Yes you did! "If they'd let me keep the money I'd be further ahead now!" Probably not. Probably the money would have gone into fast depreciating toys like trucks and boats. And if you live to age 90 you could have the pleasure of trying to figure out which private health plan is right for you, after perusing their helpful and glossy brochures.

Socialism is an economic theory or system whereby the government owns and severely regulates the means of production, distribution, and exchange. It has nothing to do with age or Social Security.

Togor hates everything about the U.S. and tries to picture conservatives as the Nazi's who are, by definition, Socialists. He thinks Trump is a socialist and that Engels and Marx were heroes of free enterprise.

Right on cue Red trots out the tired "hate America" trope. Socialize is a verb, Red, one meaning of which is "to organize along the principles of socialism." Now you're going to tell me that old age income and medical care in this country aren't supported by a government run payments program? LOL, good luck with that.

Red says, "Socialism for me but not for thee" to the kids of Arkansas growing up with no doctors or dentists and crappy diets. Problem? What problem? Let God and/or Darwin sort it out! Typical Baby Boomer crap, the generation that sucks at the hide of the nation like a gorged tick that won't stop. You've done it your whole life.

thats all red has is his ability to spout off with the hate comments, over, and over, and over, and over again. if we were to pattern his behavior on just this forum over the last couple of years, you would have a perfect example of how the nazi party operated.. every time i see his twist, hate, burn bs comments, all i can see is a little nazi troll trying to incite everyone else. hell, for the longest time he had pretty much everyone on this board absolutely hateful towards me, and anyone here can check every post i have ever made and see, i dont adhere to the socialist, nor liberal mentality. have never uttered hate to this country, nor our current president, but the little yellow bellied red snake always slanders me with accusations that i have/am, and much worse. he likes to call people members of the three stooges, and if anyone is, he would be schemp. its actually pitifull that a grown man(? old little boy is probably more fitting) can act and carry on like such an immature little spoiled brat for so long. there is no doubt there are a few liberals on this board, but when you speak socialism, red is at the forefront.

I'll be glad to tell the people here in Arkansas that you say they don't have any Doctors and their children have "crappy," diets. I guarantee you they would set you straight in a New York second. Disrespecting the people of Arkansas is just more of your lies and hate. Life here is 10,000 times better than in your made up, utopian, Socialist world in the ghettos and barrios of Argentina, Cuba, Venezuela, and California.

Who are you going to lie about next, Larry Fine?

Nevertheless, Red is right about Social Security -- it's not socialism, it's bought and paid for old age insurance.

And yes, if you were allowed to keep your FICA tax (which with the "employer's contribution") amounts to 15.3% of your income and invest it, you would be FAR better off.

That depends Vern.... remember the "crash" 10 yrs ago ? I had a 401 that took a vote from those involved to put the funds in real estate instead. I was was one of the few who voted no.

That 401 never came back to me ...... sure glad I wasn't depending on it

When people make their own investment decisions, some will make bad decisions and suffer for it. When the government makes decisions for us, we all suffer.

People who say Social Security pays people far more than they contribute, fail to understand that back in the 1960's when we were only contributing what seems like a very small amount of money in today's world, they forget that the single $1 bill would buy 3 pounds of hamburger, 4 gallons of gas, 5 cans of tuna fish, or a haircut. A never issued 1903 could be bought for $36.38, a a M-1 Garand for $89.95, and a Carcano (no scope) was $12.88, or scoped for $19.95 and a brand new Marlin 336 with scope went for $69.95.
