So Peter Navarro, the crackpot trade advisor to the current administration says last weekend that "there is a special place in hell" for Justin Trudeau. The Trump Apologist Media shrugs it off then, while all the other outlets, the so-called "liberal mainstream media", report it with the slant that it is kind of a f*cked-up thing for a government official to publicly say in that context.
A couple days later, Navarro walks it back:
So who had it right straight out of the gate? The Trump Apologist Press or the Mainstream Liberal Media?“Let me correct a mistake I made. In conveying that message, I used language that was inappropriate and basically lost the power of that message. I own that. That was my mistake. Those were my words.”
This is just a tiny tiny example. How much other stupid sh*t done by members of this administration will eventually have to be walked back? Has our "Dealmaker-in-Chief" ever left his backers and/or counterparties less-than-whole when a deal of his went south?
What drives Red up a tree is that I only have to be right once, if that one time is big enough. And brother, it looks like we're on track for that. Even Laura Ingraham looks at Scott Pruitt and says "enough is enough" (and CH thinks I don't stay up on current affairs, LOL).Last edited by togor; 06-13-2018, 12:20.Comment

In this despicable PC culture (created to a large extent BY the Mainstream Liberal Media), telling it like it is, how the cow ate the cabbage, & calling a spade a spade, is ALWAYS sensationalized by--guess who?--to such a degree that merely to escape the press frenzy, & be able to talk about more important things without unceasing press harassment, straight-talkers often feel compelled, unfortunately, to back-track. Thus when Trump uses the word everyone having their head screwed on straight uses to describe the most rotten countries in the world, the places where the whole population would evacuate if they could, even he, too, is forced to back-track.Comment

What Navarro said was obviously over the top but because he's a lightweight people mostly rolled eyes. Walking it back is a similar "who cares" moment for the same reason. More important is the pattern. What is normal brash speech for you Empire State guys strikes us midwesterners as needlessly rude and therefore dumb. The "Never Apologize" schtick is another one of those things that's normal in Manhattan but wears poorly elsewhere. People think that DJT is "their" A-hole and so they go along with his show, but eventually they'll figure out the truth which is that he's nobody's A-hole but his.Last edited by togor; 06-13-2018, 01:53.Comment

What are you talking about? Most of the TV celebrities like Matt Lauer, Harvey Weinstein, & Charlie Rose who are groveling in the dust as they beg for forgiveness from offended cry-baby bitches are New Yorkers. Their contemptible cowardly behavior demonstrates why "Never Apologize" is the most rational response--because profuse, hand-wringing, apologies earn them nothing but further abuse.Comment
