The next Trump SCOTUS nominee ...

Should be an actor par excellence. He should pretend to be
an absolute reprobate, guilty of rape and sodomy, have
served time for fraud, perjury and interfering with the course
of justice. It would also help if he says he's had no legal
training and has never heard of the Constitution.
The democrats will regard him as one of their own and will
    vote overwhelmingly to confirm him.

Maybe Neil Gorsuch has a colleague?

Seriously, maybe they could find ONE guy that doesnt have a historic drinking problem.

I believe the next one up is a woman, her name escapes me at the moment. On thing that the left will pounce on, besides being a Conservative, is the women is of strong Christian faith. I wonder how the left in Congress will go about attacking her creditability to hold high office? It is expected of one's opponent to oppose on philosophical grounds, it is morally wrong to do it with slander that is unfounded. On another forum that I visit I opposed the viewpoint of a person that I went thru school together and I THOUGHT that I knew him quite well. He responded with vulgarities that were unnecessary and extreme that I pondered. It appears that some people when cornered use the language of the gutter as their only recourse. This is how I viewed what happened last week, similar context. There is a strong certainty that the Judge will be confirmed and sit on the high court, to the chagrin of the left...a constant thorn in their side. I expect that in the next two years another fight as one of the judges will leave for physical reasons. With Kavanaugh on the bench the rudder will turn to the right and our ship of state will anger some of the passengers as going to a port of their dislike...oh well that is life! Now if President Trump can scrape some of the barnacles off of the hull, our ship can have a better transit to our children's future.

I believe you are speaking of Amy Coney Barrett and yes from what I've read the democrats are desperately hunting for smut on her in case Kavanaugh falls through. If all else fails then they will have to make up stuff and pay people to "come forward" with "tales of her past". She's a Catholic with 7 kids (2 of them adopted) so we know where a lot of past has been.

I'm sure the Democrats have already hired Fusion GPS to do a background on Amy Barrett.

When the 'Rats get back in charge, hopefully not until the 23rd century, they will place Holder, Jarret, Sunstein, and Chris Dodd on SCOTUS. And maybe a dead judge from Cook County.

England? Or one of the Scandinavian countries? Germany is semi-socialist but there is still strong pursuit of the almighty Deutschmark (OK, Euro, now).

Seriously speaking, those are the only countries I would consider to be both socialist and desirable to live in.

                      The US is not socialist.

If you disagree, or have comment, a reasoned discourse might be enjoyable.

Oh, come now. Farming Aide, Military Industrial Complex, Medical, Retirement? Aren't we all forced to contribute to this honeypot of Government programs for our benefit? Certainly Vern's favorite drum to bang is how his government social benefits didnt grow to his standards of return?

We are neither purely capatalisic, nor purely socialistic (thankfully). We are approaching a mixed economy, but cloaked as a market based economy.

To your point, not sure we have enough controls in place to capture tax revenues from major corporations to enjoy the benefits of a "Rhine Capitalism" model and the benefits of social ownership.

In truth, we should demand more for what taxes we do pay.
