So our greatest national problem is too many cigarette butts lying around?

Maybe we could send this huge Army to San Francisco to shovel up poop.

Somehow drafting members of Antifa into the miliary and training them to be proficient in the use of weapons, explosives and tactics doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I doubt if their time in military service will turn them into patriots.

I doubt the Army or any other branch would accept a recruit with a facefull of tatoos.

Hey if the tats make good camo then why not the infantry?

Alas for Vernon that his position matches my own on this subject. Somewhere in hell another icicle.

                  That's cool.

How did you know your guy was high on pot in Vietnam, and contributed to his death?

I have from other sources on what he did and no, weed didn't contribute to his death. Stupidity contributed to his death, he was a danger to others so was allowed to walk point. I believe Vern has much experience on who walks point. As a LEO you don't let a rookie or a hotdog go in first, that is an easy way to get someone killed.
What is really sad is that I can't recall his name at all.

Well . . . we could issue them ear plugs and heavy shoes and teach them to clear mine fields.

Isn't this what the Russian penial battalion did, sans earplugs?

After the war, a leading Russian general and Eisenhower were discussing the problems involved in clearing a minefield. The Russian said it was simple. They just marched a division of infantry over it and after that they let the tanks move out. Later on Eisenhower said he felt sick after he heard this.

That's why there are so many old, deaf, one-legged Russians.

Now younger, one-armed Russians were probably tank gunners -- the automatic loader tended to load the gunner's arm right along with the next round.
