    Why or how to prevent...

This is a natural response when something goes wrong, we usually look for an answer to a perceived problem or situation. Some people feel that more laws or restrictions will make everything fine, that is until the next time. Life is a hazard, the simple act of chewing food can lead to chocking and possible death. Fortunately driving a car or flying has gotten safer to improved safety measures, yet due to mechanical malfunction, pilot/driver error accidents do happen. Within the last week there have been two shooting, the one in Ky. was lessened by the simple means of a locked door. Society has always had people who are problems. In the old days you simply hung them to avoid having to continue to deal with them, today we lock them up and security personal have to continue to deal with them. Regardless of how society deals with some people, these people will continue to act out. How should society deal with these people? Some people can have their mind changed, other's cannot.
I feel that until society changes how to deal with each other then society can and will continue to have these episodes. Dog Tag made a comment in an earlier thread that made me think about reacting and I am grateful for his thoughtful observation. Our society is falling apart, evidence this board. Whose fault is it? The simple answer is no one and everyone. We have three here with opposing viewpoint, I have no problem with that. The problem with many, self included, is how one reacts to their comment. Personally starting now I shall heed my own counsel.

For some here the thesis is that the country is going to hell and they use their remaining hours on this earth to go online and chronicle it. If someone else takes issue with that thesis, then they get angry and react in a strongly negative way. But then I wonder...do these same people talk this way about the country to their grandkids?

"Never mind about school Jeremy because the whole works is headed down the tubes anyways."

Somehow I don't think it works that way in real life. The conclusion then is that it wouldn't hurt some of these guys to learn how to filter what they say online. But they'd tell you they're online here specifically so that they don't have to filter! Therein lies the problem. Add to it we had the one Russian troll, and apparently another, who come here just to pour acid on people's thoughts about certain issues.

All-in-all it's a wonder we have any good threads at all. But sometimes they still happen. Who knows maybe this will be one of them

Sam- I feel your pain. The ignore list has proven to be an effective tool to isolate the dems. Regards, Clark

Opposing viewpoints on isolated items is expected of everyone. Opposing viewpoints on every single comment made is not normal, not opinions but sabotage just like the news media but with much less intelligence. If they had been ignored long ago they would have been gone long ago but some can't resist the urge to egg them on when they see an insulting or annoying comment that only THEY make. If you oppose absolutely everything you don't belong on a forum like this so what does that tell you about their intentions?

I would like to see the system administrators screen the users here but don't want this to become more of a chore for them than it already is. We appreciate this forum and our talk among ourselves but if things continue as is then soon the "3" will be patting each other on the backs saying "mission accomplished now let's destroy another gun and conservative forum".

A comment like "It looks like rain" brings a reply like "Donald Trump is the cause of Global Warming!"

He persuaded Eve to eat the forbidden fruit while fondling her fig leaves.

He convinced Adolf Hitler that taking over the world would be easy and quick.

He told Bruce Jenner that he had some feminine features.

He is the cause/blame for the global warming theory.

He is the cause for the 2020 Trump presidential victory.

That would do it for me.
Adolf, like Trump is a short story.
Bruce was gay from the start. The rest off us were blindsided.
That's debatable. I go with the short story that Trump is here to get some work done, knowing that he will never be re-elected. Hell, I might be wrong. But watch out for demi-gods.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.
