To the OP. Ducking the country is not a long-term solution and I doubt enough go that route to change the overall numbers. Yet there is definitely a "WTF" element to someone taking on an inescapable debt to get a BA in anthropology or philosophy. So I agree with you that loan officers should think of the degree as a form of collateral and judge accordingly. Among the worst offenders of the bullsh*t degree programs generating student debt are the for profit, online schools, which DeVoss doesn't want to regulate.

Student loans are a rip-off. The colleges saw that as an opportunity to raise their fees and tuition. "Double the price! The kids can always borrow more!'

If you look at the debt load graduates carry these days, you realize the colleges are stealing their life savings before they ever make the money.

Two points:

1. we can't do anything about it since it's not our country (a Trump doctrine BTW)

2. resorting to bigoted derogatory language from the get-go does not show any motive other than to debase the conversation. It's possible to have a serious discussion about Islam in the west, the pros and cons thereof, but not for you.
