I have read where cell phones are not as hacked by the robo's as the line phones. I suppose people have complained about being called at work, during meetings, church service and those who may have trac or prepaid phones where every call incoming or outgoing cost.

If it wasn't for my "phone worshiper" wife I would have gotten rid of my line phone long ago.

He's running around the house perfecting his donkey impersonation. How funny...

          Not your best, JB.
I'm not exactly surrounded by mega-donors and their recipients. I am however surrounded by many of those simple enough and taught to think they vote their pocketbooks. The promises of a $1 per hour raise and extra stuff is what they see and wish for, but ignore the things which wipe out what they've earned today and previously. For blue collar and lower-middle management types, small X% pay raises which cannot keep up with the COL in the first place don't fare well against new/increased taxes, added fees and penalties, and the resulting inflated prices at the checkout counter.

One asinine policy we have here (Just this one as an example) in Cook County is you can't get your case heard in court unless you pay the court costs up front. This applies to the accused! They have a myriad of so-called legal reasonings and justifications for this injust practice. A county revenue generator brought to you by the D-machine. A practice being protested and dragged out within the system being protested. The people howl (some blame Trump) but keep voting the same D (name be damned even if it's Fido) on every ballot.

Then there are those who hate Mike (Al Capone) Madigan in Springfield. "HE has to go! Thankfully we don't live in his district or he's be gone!" Yet every election, including tomorrow's, they will vote D and put all his goons across the state back into Mad Mike's power base.

I don't need to be the best so long as I can say what I see and think.

JB, Illinois has a water problem I think. How else to explain Ryan, Blago (Dem), Hastert. Obama is clearly a transplant in comparison. Corruption abounds. Look at GA and KS for example, where GOP candidates for Governor literally are in charge of counting their own election. GA's election machinery is a disgrace on a par with any LBJ ballot box in the trunk of a Buick. Only now they do it with a few keystrokes. When people say they need a revolution, that's some of what they're talking about.

Just had to comment; tire stores: buy two get two free. So your BUYING FOUR TIRES. That one is just insulting.

Look at the slogan -- Buy one get one (bogo.) Think about it. If you buy one, you ought to get one!

Now buying ONE and getting TWO, that's different.

Well I have never had a deal like that on tires. "Buy three and the fourth is free" is the only thing I have seen as a sales gimmick. The tires were all sold at a reduction on the retail price but only for a set of four. Buy one or two you'd still pay full retail. There is a great mark up on tires and old stock needs to move out the door. Rather than reduce the price on every tire and clog the shop with one-sie two-sie buyers, they give you a sale price for a full set. All four tires are reduced to make the appearance of getting one free. They move more tires faster that way. At least you should be getting a decent product so long as you pay the higher price for the quality brands.

working most of my life in retail Grocery, I have seen many gimmicks,

10 for $10 or a buck a piece, and sell pallets, vs the regular price of 99 cents,,

one company did BOGO on beef roast, actually buy 2 get the 3rd of equal or lesser value free,
price per pound was the same as a normal sale price, yet we sold 3x's a much

when I had my Cooper , the dealer would offer buy 3 get 1 free on the tires, I just smiled and asked what the total was for 4 installed,

the service guy and I got along, he mentioned they matched whatever sale any other tire dealer had, and he often tossed in a free 4 wheel alignment (yes, I know that was included in the cost of tires, but still the same or a few cheaper than the competition)
