You won't get anything but a snotty response. That's why I say, "Don't feed the trolls."

Still waiting for you to condemn right wing terrorism, Vernon, and to find flaw with my argument about the Twin Pillars of Liberty. As for Boggs, his go-tos when his argument collapses on itself are ad hominem attacks, including the current holier-than-thou. No meaningful information offered there so nothing to merit a reply. Although Boggs doesn't condemn right wing terrorism either, now that I think about it.

        Listen to the braying.

For the record, everyone who reads my posts knows I condemn terrorism, no matter where it comes from. But liars gotta lie.

Nice try. See....everyone is supposed to know this, but you can't quite bring yourself to say the magic words, that you condemn right wing terrorism. Hey, you started it with your glib assumptions that some jackass who ninja kicks some woman is going to be cheered by people when you knew damn well that you were blowing smoke, or shall we say, engaging in sophistry--another idea you brought to the table. And somehow you reserve the right to yourself that people should know that you're only about good things, while denying that same right to others in the forum. More holier-than-thou. We could set rules of engagement here if you have interest, and I would live by them. But somehow I don't think you want that.

My, My Togor you sure seem "angrier" then usual today! Do you have a therapist or just your self medicating?

Someone tell me again why this country is still sending troops to Afghanistan and creating new generations of damaged losers?

Because they don't know what else to do. A bit like running Sears/Kmart.

Because the Secretary of Education's brother hasn't found a way to convince Trump to allow his company to take over and fleece the US Taxpayer even more!

Hang on there, 'trax. Unleashing the power of multi-level marketing upon the Taliban could be the way to bust this baby wide open. Induce Taliban figgters to scour the countryside, looking to recruit villagers into their Amway distribution network. Nothing would alienate them faster from the hearts of the Afghan people.

Togor is apparently one of those fierce keyboard commando trained experts that has to Google before formulating a response. It appears that his liberal "friends" got tired of this child's B.S. ramblings and shown him the way out that is why he is here. You're right Vern, he has been kicked so much that he is more comfortable riding side saddle.

Well this thread escalated quickly, with the usual players involved.
Not so long ago you could purchase by mail order a huge variety of firearms
As far as I know with no "background" checks of any kind. Yet it seems then, with WW2, Korean war vets and the dregs of society roaming about, we did have this mass shooting epidemic. I sense there is a real insidious problem here but I don't know what it is. Bear in mind that Norway, a gold standard Of gun control, still holds the record for most killed in a mass shooting. So it would appear that gun control in itself is not the solution, and at any rate does not solve the root problem, whatever that may be.

Fair point about the inscrutability of how we got here, Jim, but ultimately, here we are. As I see it the decision tree is pretty straightforward. At the first branch we decide whether we as a society accept this sort of thing as a feature of modern life or something to be fixed. If we decide that it's something to live with, well then thoughts and prayers to the victims, help them bury the dead and continue on. If we decide it's something to fix, then the second branch of the decision tree becomes whether one fixes it at the guns or the people, or some combination of the two. There are plenty of examples to study elsewhere in the world. People say "gun control doesn't work" but the more accurate statement is that "half measures in gun control don't work". Clearly if the state embarked upon a draconian gun suppression policy for a sustained period of time, there would be fewer gun deaths. None of us here want such a draconian policy I assume. I certainly don't.

No Expert on Anything. It just seems too pat that these displays of firearms atrocities happen at convenient times, politically. Can it be these murderers have been preprogrammed
to emerge when the time is opportune. All the killers are or were on someones radar, and had mental difficulties that could have been exploited. I just am suspicious of everything.
Call me paranoid, but just look at the last month or so. Caravans, synagogue. slaughter, unexploded bombs to left wing people and celebrities. Seems fishy,
