    Is Paris burning?

Apparently some of their people are doing what the German's didn't do in 1944.

They are upset about a fuel tax.

Americans just roll over and take tax increases because we are apathetic, they overreact a bit.

Did you get the chance to read why the government is raising the tax on diesel fuel?

It's a Carbon Tax that the idiot Macron has dumped
on the French people, and they are pissed off.

No, I understand why they would be upset.

I'm also happy I dont have to buy diesel in France. Last time we visited, petrol was expensive enough.

We here know a few things about repetative taxation.

What do you think could set this type of negative action here?

It's just Socialism being what it is. Take from the wage earners and give to the ne'er-do-wells. Riots and storming the Bastille are the norm for France.

This is a tax that hits long drivers in rural areas more heavily, but in France, like the US, taxes are most generally a transfer from urban to rural areas.

Do you think that the action will replicate itself in the rest of France?

Trump dumped the accord thankfully. Or we'd have rioting. So, save the Earth and get riots or screw the environment and have peace and quiet. Won't be long before we have riots in sympathy for the other rioters. I give it three days. Say, aren't we overdue for a Muzlim to kill a half dozen or so?
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

Seldom is it smart money to bet against the French protesting something or another, or going out on strike.

                            It's a national culture really.

This one involves a bit more property damage, so it will be interesting to see how Macron handles it. They really dont like him. The French and Americans have something in common yet again.

Americans don't like the French President?
