Here again whatever leadership an individual gives a scout it is his doings only. Scouting, the council, the club, the organization, whatever you want to call it does NOTHING and they provide NOTHING. If the scouts go camping it is on someone's property and organized by the leader. Fishing trips, etc, etc, all the same. This includes the meeting places as well. The town I live in gave me access to 3 buildings free of charge but how many have this option. You don't want to have these meetings in your home. The boy/girl scouts of America provide some guidelines in the scout manual that they sell. Otherwise the whole organization is nothing but a store.

What I feel broke the backs of these volunteer's both men and women was they were not given any say so what so ever about what decisions the council made (queers) and it was their time and their kids that were involved. It is just like school PTA. They call it something else now as the parents have no input over what the school system wants. They just want their time and money, otherwise shut up. Scouting, the same. When I was in it we couldn't get enough volunteers to be leaders so it overloaded those that did (some parents love getting rid of their kids for a couple of hours a week at these meetings and scouting events). What did the council do about it? They kept on recruiting scouts. I warned them that we were going to have to disband if they put any more on us w/o recruiting more leaders too--they continued to recruit scouts only. We gave it up and scouts that wanted to stay in the program went to surrounding towns that had the meetings.

Now, it looks like parents are wising up to the changes being made w/o their input and thinking about the safety and experiences involved with these new type scouts and saying "NO".

Like so many things--destroyed by greed, liberalism and diversity.

Problem goes way beyond fatherlessness--you can be a "devoted" father AND a bleeding-heart liberal pussy who thinks the best thing to do for his kids is provide them plenty of computer junk.

I kind of feel that good fathers are few and far between these days. I thank God for my son-in-law every day. He's the kind of father a man should be.
